She continued: 'I think, based on previous episodes, there were a lot of people who thought Sarah was protecting Gary or that Sarah and Gary maybe saw something that night and were trying to protect somebody else, when in fact it was actually Sarah, which I think will have come as a shock to a lot of people.'
On keeping it a secret from everyone, she said: 'I’ve literally been a big bag of nerves.
'It's been so difficult, I told my mum and I just recently told Scarlett and my son Beau. Yeah.
'It’s really hard having to keep it quiet for that long, especially when you're online, you’re seeing all the chat on social media, everyone's saying I think it's such a body, I think this, and I think that.

' So that's been really difficult.'

While the street's residents struggled to come to terms with a murderer living among them, the suspects fight to keep their secrets under wraps as pressure mounts.
Last month, Todd, George (Tony Maudsley) and Gary (Mikey North) were in the firing line under interrogation.
The coming weeks then saw Summer (Harriet Bibby), Christina (Amy Robbins) and Danielle (Natalie Anderson) also under suspicion.
There's no shortage of motives either, with Todd having survived Theo's abuse.
Before Theo was revealed as the dead body, other characters in the frame were Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown), Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) and Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn).
Previously speaking to The Mirror, actor James said of Theo's death: 'Something needs to happen to him. He can't go on like that, we need justice.
'Soap is a very moral medium. We want our underdogs to triumph and our baddies to meet their end.
'Being part of the show and the way we have, in terms of the arc Theo has been on, has been one of the great joys and privileges of my life.
'There is the knowledge that sooner or later he will meet his end and then there's great satisfaction.'
Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
