Meanwhile her mother Katie McGrath is also a television producer, with the result that Gracie grew up in a family in which she would 'overhear' an industry 'vocabulary' that she was able to absorb at the dinner table or during the school run.

On the hair front, Gracie began experimenting with bobs last year and ultimately opted for an even shorter pixie cut at the start of 2026.

'I feel simpler than ever as I've been cutting my hair off and off and off,' she remarked in the middle of last month on the Vogue podcast The Run-Through. 

'I'm just loving low-maintenance,' she continued, adding that her inspirations in that area had been 1990s-era Winona Ryder, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chloe Sevigny.

'I honestly feel the most like myself with shorter hair,' she told Harper's Bazaar UK last year, saying her initial bob came 'off the back of, almost like a pre-break-up, when things inside start to feel a bit tangled up, and you feel like you need a change.'

She recalled: 'I didn't know where to start so I cut it all off and felt so much lighter. People say hair holds memories and feelings. It felt good to sever ties where I needed to, which sounds harsh but it really was a lighter and nicer experience than that.' 

After insisting on her 'love' of her cropped locks, she confessed: 'I see pictures of myself with my long hair or I'll watch somebody else's show and they're using their hair like this extra limb, and I'll get jealous. I miss it sometimes, but I think overall, I feel way more like myself and in my skin with this hair.'

Gracie revealed her hairstylist at that point was Bobby Eliot, whose celebrity clientele has over the years included such names as Kristen Stewart and Julia Garner.
