The Australian star, 42, who is best known for her roles on and Pretty Little Liars, took to Instagram with a teary-eyed video on Tuesday after learning she had been passed over for the role.
'I just got word I didn't get an acting job that I was down to the wire for the lead for a TV show. This happens a lot,' the mother-of-two said as tears began to run down her face.
'The amount of times it's been, like, me and another girl... my whole career.';
Tammin, who is an outspoken advocate for mental health, said rejection is common in her industry.
'It's just harder than you think. And people think, like, 'Oh, just get on a show... or do a film.' It's, like, not that easy. And for me it's always down to the last two,' she said.
