In a touching tribute, Louise Thompson revealed that she'd been contacted by a follower whose daughter Katie, who also has a stoma, decided to dress up as her for World Book Day, after reading her memoir Lucky.
Posting snaps of her outfit on Instagram, she captioned the post: 'I wasn't ready for this. When I received this video and then a selection of photos of a young girl called Katie dressing up as me for world book day I genuinely thought I might faint, and then retire. My job here is done. I'm not sure I could feel more proud in my career.
'I wasn't sure whether to share as it feels so personal but Katie and her mother are such legends and she's such a brilliant advocate for all the young people out there that struggle with a stoma bag (and to oldies like me of course), plussss it's world book day today so it felt too silly not to.
'The idea of someone dressing up as me giving me credit as an author gives me major imposter syndrome but just WOW.

'Katie's mum sent me this video of her reading my book 'Lucky' a week or so ago and I've showed all my family members and watched it over and over in disbelief.
'Katie lives with a stoma. She's already navigated more hospital corridors and harder conversations than most adults ever will.
'Listening to her read passages that came from some of my lowest moments carried a weight I hadn't quite anticipated. When I wrote Lucky, I didn't know who would find it, or when. You hope it lands softly somewhere it's needed.
'The fact she's chosen to dress up as me for World Book Day is a moment I'll treasure forever. I can't wait to show my son when he's old enough to understand. He's going as Paddington tomorrow, surprise surprise. I imagine most young children will go as innocent characters from popular children's books that have sold millions of copies.
'Katie, is choosing to break the mould. She has experienced more than most people double her age and that will offer her infinite wisdom for the future. Thank you to you and to your mum for sharing this with me.
