She has lived a life in the spotlight for over four decades, ever since she first gained prominence in the eighties.

And , now 60, lives a blissful life in the English countryside with her architect boyfriend Henry Smith, 52, after ditching 's**tshow' America for good.

The actress is among the Hollywood stars who have escaped the hustle and bustle of the States for a rambling country estate in the Chilterns.

'I love being in this country. There's a freedom of self here. People are so kind', Robin told of her new quiet life.

'They're living. They're not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That's most of America. Everything's rush, competition and speed.'

Her ideal morning begins with listening to the birds chirping outside her sprawling home before taking her dogs out for a walk.

The Chiltern Hills or the Chilterns cover Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire and are a stones throw away from the Cotswolds

For Robin, the breaking point was waking up to her LA neighbours' home renovations: 'Everyone's building a huge house and I'm just done with all that — I love the quiet. And I've met my person. Finally.'

Other high-profile stars that have recently relocated to the UK from the US include Ryan Gosling, his wife Eva Mendes, and the designer Tom Ford.

For Robin, who turned 60 on Wednesday, entering a new decade wasn't something that bothered her after finally meeting the love of her life.

'I don't see it as the end of an era. It's just another number that's a little bit bigger. It hasn't shifted me in any way because I feel like I did that shift when I was 50, where I said, "I'm going to do it my way", she added to The Sunday Times

The thrice-divorcee met her British-born Australian boyfriend in a Chilterns pub not far from the latest Airbnb she rented with her stepsister Lucinda Carmichael.

The loved-up couple, who quickly bonded during their five-month COVID-19 battles, next plan on moving to a rented home in the English seaside with Labradors Rusty and Rocky.

'It's liberating to be done. Be done with searching, looking and getting 60 percent of what you wanted,' Robin explained.

'That's exactly what I wanted. I'm turning 60 and I'm, like, "Is this it?" I love being alone and I've done that many times. But I'm, like, I want to grow old with somebody, and travel and see the world.'

'I don't want to worry anymore. I don't want to doubt, I don't want to suspect. I don't want all those things that we did in our 20s.

'I can't imagine feeling again what I felt then, which was jealous, suspicious. You grow out of it like you grow out of a pair of pants.'
