Richard E. Grant has announced that he is set to become a grandfather as daughter Olivia prepares to welcome her first child with husband Florian Wirst this summer.

Speaking on Gyles Brandreth's Rosebud Podcast he revealed that he had been set up on dates by pals and while he is open to the idea, he currently has 'no inclination whatsoever' to get a girlfriend.
Richard was married to vocal coach Joan or 38 years, before she tragically .
Asked if he was lonely since his wife's death, he said: 'Not lonely. I live communally because our daughter and her now husband chose a couple of years ago to come and live in our house'.
'So we all live together and I’m kind of like a concierge. I do most of the shopping and the majority of the cooking because they’re both very busy. And she’s going to have a baby in June'.

He was then asked if he would allow himself to have a girlfriend, to which he replied that he 'not thought about it'.
'I’ve certainly been set up with people. And I keep being told by people ‘It’s four years. It’s time. You must find somebody else.’ But I’m not consciously looking. But if I walked out the door now, a coup de foudre happened, I wouldn’t be opposed to that'.
Gyles, 78, then wondered if he would feel guilty finding love again, to which Richard replied: 'No. But I’ve not had any inclination whatsoever'.
The couple had overcome tragedy in their life and spoke publicly about how their first child together sadly died after just half an hour.
Joan had suffered multiple miscarriages but had been determined they would keep trying after seeing how good her husband had been with her son from a previous relationship Tom.
Then in 1989 she fell pregnant with daughter Olivia after telling him 'Fatherhood suits you. You're very good at it'.
The veteran actor had also previously shared that his 'hilarious' wife before she died.
He has been extremely candid about his grief in the years since Joan's death and shared what made him realise his late wife really loved him.

Speaking on The Lulu Podcast: Turning Points, Richard said of Joan: 'She was hilarious - a month before she died, she went through all the women, the women who were either single, divorced or available or widowed,'
'That we knew, and she basically went through all of them like a lioness and gave me a reason why I shouldn't pursue any of them.'
'And I knew how much she loved me by doing that...' he added.
Richard went on to share Joan's reaction to him finally meeting his idol, the iconic Barbra Streisand.
'They say you should never meet your idols... and after I had this conversation with her and came back to London, and Joan said - even though she was then 79 years old – "If she wasn't married to James Brolin, would you still jump her bones?",' Richard said.
'And I said "darling, you know the answer to that". And she said – "well, I've got you, you're never getting away".'
Richard has been vocal in his grief since losing the love of his life and has admitted that he has lost friends as he battled heartbreak.
The pair had been together for 38 years at the time of her death.
'Subsequent to her death, I have had people cross the road rather than talk,' he said during a conversation at The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival.
'Whether they think you're going to fall apart and you're an emotional wreck, I don't know. But I will never speak to them again.'
