Phoebe Dynevors Accent Confuses Fans in Interview

left fans confused with her bizarre accent as she discussed her mother in a US TV interview.

The actress, 31, is known for her clear British accent in the popular regency drama .

However, when she appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark, some viewers thought she was trying to sound more American.

The star was talking about her mother Sally, who is best known for her long-running role as Sally Metcalfe on .

She said, in a British accent: 'I would grow up on sets going to see my mum on her soap, Coronation Street.'

However, as soon as Kelly began to speak, Phoebe's accent appeared to shift to have a slight American hint.

Listeners in the UK couldn't help but pick up on it and began commenting online.

One user on X said: 'What has happened to Phoebe's accent…….'; 'I know you're giving me your best American accent but I can still tell that you're British'

Phoebe's appearance comes after she revealed why she hasn’t been in Bridgerton since series two, and whether she plans to return.

Since landing on the box in 2020, the series has gone on to become a global hit, with Phoebe returning for its second season before stepping away.

In an interview, the actress has finally addressed her absence.

'When the first season came out, they didn't know what they needed to put in play. We were the ones that got away, in a certain way,' she told Collider.

She continued: 'I can only speak for myself, I would always come back if I was asked.

'I have not received a call. When I get that call, I will be there if I can.'

Bridgerton, based on Julia Quinn's book of the same name, first hit screens in 2020.

There have been four successful series since then, with the latest airing earlier this year in January.

Sally often expresses her pride for her daughter over on social media and she isn't the only one to follow in her mother's footsteps, after Sally's other daughter Hattie, 22, joined the cast of Waterloo Road back in June 2023.

Sally shares daughter Phoebe and Hattie with her husband, actor turned scriptwriter Tim.

The couple also share 28-year-old son Samuel, who doesn't work in the industry.
