Kyle Sandilands Plans Exclusive Live Event Amid Settlement Talks

If audiences assumed they have heard the last of – they are wrong.

Daily Mail can reveal the 55-year-old radio king is developing plans for a major one-off live entertainment event celebrating two decades of The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Sandilands is exploring the idea of a one-night-only spectacular that would reunite some of the biggest celebrities and musicians who have worked on the show, while giving fans access to the broadcaster following his dramatic radio exit.

'It's something Kyle is genuinely excited about,' an insider said.

'He's spent 20 years building relationships with some of the biggest names in entertainment. The idea is to bring them all together for one event.'

The source said the proposed show would feature live performances from artists who have become regular fixtures on the program over the years.

The Sydney-based show will include surprise celebrity appearances, audience participation and several iconic segments made famous by the popular breakfast show.

'Think of it as a celebration of everything the show became over the last two decades,' the insider explained.

'There's music, comedy, special guests, fan interaction and a few surprises that long-time listeners would immediately recognise.'

The live event is also being considered as the first step in a broader strategy to expand Sandilands' brand beyond traditional radio.

'Everyone assumes Kyle's next move will be another radio or TV show,' the source said.

'But he's looking at something much bigger than that. This is about building a direct relationship with fans – which Kyle has always been about – that isn't reliant on a network.'

'Whether people love him or hate him, Kyle still has one of the most loyal audiences in Australia. If he announces this, tickets will move very quickly.'

Sources tell Daily Mail that the one-off live show is to launch a 'subscription based' series, Kyle Sandilands Live, where fans can listen 'unfiltered' live every morning from 6am.

The plans remain under wraps, but those close to Sandilands say that momentum is building behind the project as he prepares for his next chapter.

'He's not finished,' the insider said. 'Not even close.' 

There is no word if former co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson will be involved in the project.

Sources claim Kyle wants to put an end to the fight quickly so he can get back on the air, either with ARN or under a new show. 

One of his arguments in court is believed to be that, as a public figure, he risks fading into obscurity the longer he stays off the air.  

The insider goes on to say that ARN are also motivated to quickly find a settlement solution, as the company's share price remains at risk.

'The issue for ARN is that they're a publicly traded company, so they need to sort it out,' the source claimed.
