Pete Wickshas revealed that the decision to work with best pal Sam Thompson's family was a 'risky' one, after joining forces with the star's sister Louise for a new podcast venture

Last month, the pair announced their production company has acquired Louise and her fiancé Ryan Libbey's podcast He Said, She Said (pictured together with Sam's girlfriend Talitha)

Pete said: 'Obviously I've known Louise and Ryan for some time and it's a bit of a risk taking on kind of family members into the business side of stuff. because there's obviously a slight conflict of interest.

'But with Sam and Louise, it's tough then you're working with family and all sorts of stuff, which is why I do quite a lot on the he says and she said side of things because it separates it a little bit.

'But the nicest part of it is bringing in more of Sam's family because we've always been a family, like all of us together? As much as I'm not part of that family, Sam's mum, Sam's dad, Louise, all of Sam's family have always made me feel like part of the family.

'And one of the things that we have here at Staying Relevant, as in the production company, all the staff we've got is that it's also a bit of a family. So now we're all just this great big blended bunch of f****g idiots that work together, really.'

Sam added: 'One of the best things that could, when we work with Louise and Ryan, is what Pete said there, is I actually don't have much to do with it.

'So Pete actually is pretty much fully in charge of that sector. And I think it was one of the best ideas ever, because it had exactly what Pete said. It means I'm not-- I don't really have any sort of say in terms of when, if Louise is saying anything, I don't really know what it is that she's saying, she goes straight to Pete. So it means that there's never a crossover.

'It was Pete's idea, and it's such a clever thing, because it allows for there, if there ever, and I hope there won't ever be, and I'm sure there won't ever be, but if there ever was a problem, it would allow it to be handled sort of like by the other side of the business, if you know what I mean.

Pete continued: 'I think it's really important for Sam and I and the people that work here and in terms of acquiring podcasts and other bits and bobs that we do  - because everything is so intertwined, Sam and I's lives are intertwined, Louise's lives are intertwined - to make clear definitions between what is kind of work and business and pleasure.

Since launching their podcast Staying Relevant in 2022, Sam and Pete have turned the show into their own company, and in September they sold out a night at London's O2 Arena

The pair have also joined forces with TUI to help answers their listeners' holiday dilemmas

In September, Sam and Pete cemented their podcast's success with a night at London's O2 Arena, and the pair shared that fans will get a glimpse at the chaotic build-up to the evening in a new documentary.

While the evening itself went down a storm, Pete said he still 'hasn't processed' it due to the 'difficulties' they overcame in planning the show.

The pair are certainly hoping that their upcoming trip to Cyprus with TUI will be a smoother experience, but Pete and Sam admitted that they've already clashed over their ideal plans for the holiday.

Pete said: 'I mean, in terms of why we would be good people for people to bring their kind of holiday dilemmas to is, as Sam said, we are just one big dilemma.

'There isn't a holiday dilemma that Sam and I haven't been through individually all together. As you can imagine, holidays are not high on my list of favorite things to do unless I'm going on my own.

'Similarly to Sam and I, we've had people come in and say, you know, I want a really relaxing time, beach, cocktail, all that sort of stuff. And then you get the more high octane part that wants to go sightseeing and do all that sort of stuff, Sam is that person. I am the beach and cocktail person.

'When we go away, Sam likes to go sightseeing. He likes to go and see all sorts.'

Sam added: 'I want to go see all the ancient Greek temples. I'm so excited. I literally want to go proper historical. I want to be like Indiana Jones, archaeologist vibe, right? And then I want to have a go on the golf course as well.

'And do you know what I really like, actually, is that a lot of the people we've got in touch there, a lot of it's relationships as well. And so I like the way we're coming in to help you in your relationship dilemmas with a holiday.'
