and his ex wife Christine are still struggling to sell their £6.5million Cheshire mansion a year after putting it on the market.

The couple separated in June 2022 after 11 years together but have continued to live together in the house for the sake of their three children, who are all autistic.

And now The Sun reports that Paddy is refusing to drop the asking price despite the pair only having a handful of viewings in 12 months.

The Radio 2 presenter is reportedly trying to hold out for a loaded footballer to come along and snap up the property and net them a £4m profit.

A source said: 'Paddy is refusing to drop the price and reckons that someone will come along and buy the place. He's hanging on for a footballer with cash to burn so they can tot up a monster profit.

'But it is less than ideal that a slightly smaller house is on the market for £5m in the same street, and across Cheshire, there are houses of a similar size that have remained unsold for a couple of years.'

They added: 'He really needs to bite the bullet and drop the price tag.'

There is reportedly a similar property for sale on the same upmarket Cheshire street for £1.5m less than Paddy and Christine's property.

The ex couple paid £2.1million for the home in 2020, and it features seven bedrooms, a gym, his and hers dressing-rooms, an orangery, a swimming pool and a kids' indoor soft-play space.

At the start of 2025, Christine was left furious after husband Paddy put their marital home on the market for the £6.5million price as she believed he inflated the price so it doesn't sell.

Her friends at the time feared that she would have to continue living with the former Top Gear host for 'the foreseeable future' because buyers will be put off by the cost of it - which is a staggering £4.4million more than what they paid for it in 2020.

'It is so overpriced, Paddy doesn't want to sell which seems like another tactic by him.

'It's insane that Paddy would put the house on the market for that much, they only bought it five years ago and house prices have hardly gone up at all since then,' said an insider familiar with McGuinnesses.

'The house is on for two thirds more than what they paid for it, it will never sell. It all feels a bit like Paddy wanting to control the situation and keep Christine living in the house with him for longer.

'Christine made it clear that she can't live with him anymore but now it looks like she will have to for a long time yet.'

Since ending their relationship with Paddy, Christine has thrown herself at several career and love opportunities, including appearing on Celebs Go Dating but soon left after appearing overwhelmed during the episodes.

Now, Christine appears to have got back out there as she reportedly revealed she is in a 'situationship' with a new and unnamed person.

However the former model revealed that when she first got to know this person, she found herself oversharing, according to The Mirror.

Christine said she feared it had created a 'trauma bond' and hoped this relationship would be the last time she forms a close connection using this 'toxic' trait.

Speaking about her current situationship in an episode of her podcast Situationships with Sophie and Christine, she said: 'Before I started this situationship I'm in now, we were talking a lot and I was very aware that a lot of the stuff I was sharing that we had in common that it could potentially build a trauma bond because I've done it previously.

'That's the last bond I'd like to build with someone because it's almost toxic.'

Back in October, Christine opened up about as she revealed she was 'blown away' by their reaction.

The pair, who wed in 2011, have three children - twins Leo and Penelope, as well as Felicity.

And now that the twins have turned 12, Christine has revealed that they have been 'mature' about the divorce.
