Outrage as Aussie influencer films toddler Son dangerously close to crocodile

Mitchell Orval has caused controversy by sharing a video of his toddler son playing close to a saltwater crocodile. 

In the video, which was posted to Instagram but appears to have been since deleted, one of the Australian influencer’s young children wanders by the shore at Tiwi Island in the Northern Territory, where the family are on holiday. 

Captioned, ‘On the beach of the retreat’ the video then pans across the sand to the water were a croc looms, just metres away from the boy, who appears to be one-year-old Sunny. 

An earlier post showed father and son cuddling up before the outing, and was captioned: ‘Off to see some huge crocs’. 

According to Perth Now, Tiwi Land Council’s camping protocols warn visitors about croc attacks. ‘

‘Crocodiles are common on the Tiwi Islands, you must always assume that saltwater crocodiles are present in any waterway,’ it reads. 

‘Don’t become complacent; crocodile danger is real and attacks can be fatal. 

‘Saltwater crocodiles can attack people in boats and the smaller the boat, the greater the risk.’

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Mitchell Orval for comment.

It comes after a happy announcement as Mitch and fellow influencer Chloe Szepanowski announced their engagement this weekend. 

Mitch, 27, got down on one knee and proposed to the stunning model, 25, during a getaway at Tiwi Island Retreat in the Northern Territory.

A clip shared to social media shows the couple enjoying a drink on a sandy beach before Mitch’s surprise proposal.

The model couldn’t hide her shock and excitement as she said yes. 

The couple, who have been together for nine years, immediately shared a passionate kiss and embrace while their son, Arti, looked on.

 ‘We’re getting married! Special place forever @tiwiislandretreat,’ Chloe captioned the post.

The couple share two sons, Arti, three, and Sunny, one.
