Lawyer Roy Maughan, who is representing the 55-year-old rapper, told TMZ Monday that the musical artist has not been successful in his attempts to communicate with his son as of late.

Maughan told the outlet that Mystikal, whose full name is Michael Lawrence Tyler, was hoping to provide 'people peace' in serving his sentence.

The Grammy-nominated rapper, whose catalog includes tracks such as Shake Ya A** and Danger (Been So Long), entered a guilty plea this past March to third-degree rape.

The plea eliminated the risk of a potential first-degree rape conviction, which would have had a mandatory life sentence.

Mystikal's lawyer said that the musical artist entered a 'best interest plea' with the intent on shortening a potential sentence if convicted.

The singer was vulnerable to a potential life sentence when taking into account two past convictions, one for drug possession and a 2003 conviction on sexual battery, his lawyer told the outlet.

'I do plan to go and have a conversation with him at some point later in life, I couldn’t say when it will be, but I do plan to go have a conversation,' he said.

Million told the outlet he had been upset with his father, and said he hoped he would 'get the help' he needs.

In his June 16 sentencing hearing, the rapper attempted to take back his guilty plea, as he said he 'did not have sufficient opportunity to fully consider the consequences,' according to WBRZ.

His accuser told the court she hoped he would get the maximum sentence for his plea, going into detail about the brutality in the attack.
