Muni Long, 37, dazzles on BET Awards red carpet six months after double lung transplant as she shares health update

Muni Long has shared a health update after recently revealing she . 

The 37-year-old music artist attended the 2026  on Sunday in a stunning, sequin-covered, sky-blue dress.

While walking the red carpet with Akeem Ali, she spoke about her recovery, telling The Hollywood Reporter, 'I’m feeling good, as long as I do everything I’m supposed to do.'

Her checklist includes bringing a protective face mask 'everywhere' and regularly using hand sanitizer.

'It’s really how we should all be – but I’ll be a lot more cognizant of my surroundings, and what I’m eating, and things like that. It’s actually a much more healthy lifestyle,' she explained to the outlet.

The Daily Mail has reached out to reps for the singer for comment. 

Last week Long, who was diagnosed with Lupus more than ten years ago, appeared on Good Morning America and said she got in November 2025, forcing her to drop out of Brandy & Monica's The Boy Is Mine tour.

'I knew for a really long time that something was wrong,' she recalled. 'Every day I’m, like, spitting in cups and coughing all the time. Trying to take all these medicines to get through the day. 

'With this industry, you’re always in people’s faces. So, I’m taking pictures, and I’m just huffing and puffing like I just ran a marathon.'
