Michelle Yeoh got emotional while receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California, on Wednesday.

The Wicked star, 64, was pictured wiping tears from her eyes during the ceremony, as she joined the ranks of Tinseltown's greatest legends on the iconic Hollywood Boulevard.
The actress told the crowd that her husband Jean Todt, 79, whom she married in 2023, was currently traveling but had gotten her 'permission' to miss the big moment.
'Thank you for showing up and for standing beside me. For being part of my life in the quiet moments, not just the bright ones. Your presence is everything,' she said during part of her speech.
'To the fans around the world, to my Yeoh family — my brother and [his] beautiful wife surprised me, they came all the way from Malaysia yesterday.'

'My husband, who is not here, because I gave him permission to go to India, and my Todt family, thank you all for surrounding me with love, for being my safe harbor and for helping me stay true to my own North Star,' Yeoh added.

Yeoh also paid tribute to her late father, Yeoh Kian Teik, who died in 2014, and her mother Janet Yeoh, 97.
'To my dad, I know you're up there, still watching and guiding me. To my mom, who's still praying every day for me that I will succeed. This is our star.'

Elsewhere in her speech Yeoh marveled at how far she's come, telling the crowd, 'Once I was a little girl from Malaysia, sitting under the vast sky, looking up at a single steady star and daring to believe I could follow it. And now there's one on the ground.'
Yeoh first crossed paths with Todt, who's the former CEO of Ferrari, in 2004, with the pair getting engaged one month after their first meeting.
The couple said 'I do' during a 2023 ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland, following a 19 year engagement.
Yeoh wowed at Wednesday's ceremony in a vibrant yellow dress paired with silver heels.

Yeoh dedicated the award to her mother and said that she would be bringing it home to her in Malaysia.

During her memorable speech at the ceremony, a tearful Yeoh reflected on her 40 years in Hollywood as she stated: 'I'm just going to stand here and take this all in.'
