Maya Jama reveals hidden meaning behind her secret tattoo after getting the inking aged 15

Maya Jama has revealed the hidden meaning behind her secret Arabic tattoo across her thigh that she got when she was just 15 years old.

The Love Island star, 31, admitted she has many secret inkings that are only visible when she's not covered up.

She said: 'My first ever tattoo is the one down my thigh, across the bikini tie area. had that positioning and I feel like all the girlies just ran straight to do it.

'But I was, oh my god, I was 15 and me and my friends went to this lady's house in Bristol and she had a parrot flying around the room.

'And it was definitely not legal for her to do it, but she tattooed all of us', she added to The Sun.

Maya previously told Office Magazine: 'Mine says in Arabic, 'Love like you've never been hurt and dance like nobody's watching.' And I feel like I've lived by that. Two things I do!

'I have quite a lot of tattoos but I realised most of them you only see if I'm in a bikini or underwear, because they're all rib, hip to thigh.'

The star made her long-awaited return to the Love Island villa in scenes aired on Sunday night, four weeks after her last appearance on the show.

The presenter, had previously laughed off questions from fans about whether she was on a 'zero hours contract,' after they noted she hadn't been seen on the show since launch night on June 1.

Ahead of the episode, Maya also took to Instagram to show off her latest racy look, with a tongue-in-cheek caption poking fun at her lengthy absence as she joked: 'I heard you missed me...' 

Maya's trip to Mallorca last week for Love Island was a brief one, as on Saturday she shared video of herself at Bad Bunny's star-studded concert in London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The star headed straight to the gig from her private jet, telling her Instagram followers how she made a quick change in the car. 

Maya later popped up in Bad Bunny's famous La Casita on stage. 

Last week, the presenter vowed she would be back in the villa 'soon,' after fans noted she hadn't appeared on the show since launch night.

One viewer fumed on X: 'Decide between yourselves? What does that mean? WHERE IS !! Is she now on flexible working hours or is it a zero hours contract now???'

Maya hit back: 'I'll be back in there soon I promise. I have been dying to get back in there tbh [to be honest]'.
