Matildas superstar Sam Kerr and her fiancée Kristie Mewis have returned to Australia to spend Christmas with Kerr’s family in her hometown.
The happy couple, who announced they are expecting their first child last month, were all smiles as they strolled through the arrivals gate at Perth Airport on Thursday.
American soccer player Mewis, 33, showed off her growing baby bump in a cropped white tank top and black bike shorts.
The striking blonde, who plays as a a midfielder for West Ham United, appeared fitter than ever in the chic athleisure look which also showed off her toned legs.
In a relatable moment, the sporting glamour couple popped into a nearby McDonald’s to pick up a coffee and a cold beverage for their ride home.
Mewis’ baby bump has grown significantly since Kerr’s bride-to-be last shared images of her side profile in November while her parents visited them in the UK.

The couple set social media alight when they announced the news that Mewis was carrying their first child, revealing the news in a set of images including their scan result in a UK photo booth.
‘Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025!’ they captioned the heartwarming photos.
For their flight, Kerr, 31, sported an oversized basketball T-shirt, green basketball shorts, and a black compression sleeve on her right leg, tending to the ACL injury that will see her sidelined from Women’s Super League club Chelsea until February or March 2025.
The lovebirds shared a tender glance as they sauntered out to the airport car park, with Mewis wheeling one large suitcase behind them.
Kerr wheeled one in each hand, with a large Louis Vuitton shoulder bag slung over her back.
The hometown hero later shared a short video to her Instagram Stories announcing their arrival. The clip showed her view of the ocean and is captioned, ‘Home’.
Mewis beamed as she stuck a hand through the window of a white Jeep to great her in-law, Roxanne, who appeared to be picking them up from the airport.
They were later spotted having a joyous reunion with Kerr’s extended family at her family home.

Kerr changed into a fresh outfit and was seen being embraced by her younger relatives, who were clearly stoked to be reunited with the Matildas captain.

Kerr and Mewis announced on November 19 that they will become parents for the first time, with Mewis carrying their child.
Kerr and Mewis began their relationship during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, where they were seen together on the field after a match between Australia and the United States.
They publicly confirmed their relationship in August 2021 through an Instagram post.
In November 2023, the couple announced their engagement and in December 2023, Mewis signed with West Ham United and moved to London to be closer to Kerr.

It is understood that the couple first met while they were both competing for clubs in the National Women’s Soccer League in the USA back in 2019.
They had spoken online for nearly four months during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, with the pair also understood to have spent two weeks in lockdown together.
In 2021, America would take on Australia at the Tokyo Olympics and the pair made headlines as they went head-to-head during the semi-finals of the women’s football tournament.
It comes as Kerr has been sidelined since last December after she suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during a training camp with the south-west London club.
Kerr was forced to undergo surgery and enter a rehabilitation period, ruling her out of the remainder of the 2023-2024 season.
