Kylie Jenner Faces Backlash for Jetting to NYC

has come under fire for jetting to New York for 24 hours to see her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet for a 'spontaneous' date night. 

Taking to , the star, 28, shared a backdated video showing her doing her make-up on a private jet, in which she revealed she was getting ready for a date night with her boyfriend of three years. 

In the video, the star, who is the proud owner of her $70million 'Kylie Air' private plane, divulged: 'This trip was very last minute, I'm literally going for like 24 hours', leading to alarm from eco-conscious followers. 

While some fans were excited by the insight into couple, who remain tight-lipped, others were disgruntled: 'Another day where a billionaire makes choices only caring about themselves not the environment or other people living in the same planet.

Kylie's comments section was soon flooded with critics, with users writing: 'Does anyone else feel like this is too much? Taking a private plane to visit a city for less than 24 hours to go on a date?...

'I thought we cared about the climate, but yet everyone is cheering in the comments... So out of touch…. another day where a billionaire makes choices only caring about themselves not the environment or other people living in the same planet... 

'girl and people had ME feeling bad about my carbon footprint?! i think not... this 24 hour trip to NYC cost as much as 5 years of income for me... I can’t even imagine being rich enough to take a flight just for date night... The Carbon footprint is mad.'

In the video, Kylie opened by saying: 'Get ready with me for date night!', before she revealed that she had a spray tan - but was not happy with the shade so had a second and would have to wash after doing her make-up.

She then showed fans she was going through turbulence, which was putting a stopper on her getting ready routine: 'Oh no there's turbulence now! I have to sit and I'm not finished! Here's the make-up in other lighting'. 

Kylie did not specify when the video was taken and merely from her 'drafts', although she has recently been in New York for the Met Gala last week and watching the Knicks with Timothée earlier in the week. 

In 2022, Kylie was slammed for taking a 12-minute flight on her private jet – for a 26-mile journey that would have taken just 39 minutes by car.

She was branded a 'climate criminal' for her short haul journey across California in 2022 despite her lectures on protecting the environment.

She took her Kylie Air plane twice across the county on July 13, 2022, and again just two days later on July 15. 

The Bombardier Global 7500 jet travelled for 35 minutes from Palm Springs, just outside LA, to Van Nuys, near her $36million Hidden Hills mansion.

Two hours later the mum of two then flew from Van Nuys, to Camarillo in Ventura County, California - a trip which took just 12 minutes.

Earlier, on July 13, Kylie had also flown from Camarillo to Van Nuys a trip of just 17 minutes. She had then taken a 29-minute flight, going from Van Nuys to Palm Springs.

Experts revealed her trip would have cost around $1600 to just fuel the plane, but if the private jet had been hired it would have set her back about $7200.

Had the star driven the 26-mile trip from her home in Hidden Hills, to Camarillo it would have taken her just 39 minutes without the horrendous traffic that is usual in those areas.

But instead she drove 30 minutes in the wrong direction to Van Nuys airport, before jumping on the plane - with the journey taking longer despite the 12-minute flight.

The revelations come just three days after she shared a boastful Instagram post of her next to a flash car and two private jets, with the caption: 'You wanna take mine or yours?'
