Kim Basinger, 72, Stunning in Rare Shoot!

was a massive movie star in the 1980s, starring in hit after hit.

The blonde bombshell was a Bond girl opposite in 1983's Never Say Never Again, then had a role in the 1984 film The Natural.

Then she found global fame when she played Mickey Rourke's abused lover in 9 1/2 Weeks.

Her marriage to - which lasted from 1993 until 2002 - also grabbed headlines, especially when they had a public tug of war over their daughter , now a model.

In recent years, she has kept a lower profile, but this week the icon was seen in a rare magazine cover shoot for Flaunt as she works on the animated movie Getting Lost.

The 72-year-old was almost unrecognizable as she posed in the desert with a falcon. See what she looks like now.

Basinger got her start in beauty pageants before working as a successful fashion model for many years.  

Even though she was making a fortune, Basinger was tired of the shoots, so she turned to acting.

After moving to Los Angeles, she landed supporting roles in McMillan & Wife and Charlie's Angels, before starring in Katie: Portrait of a Centerfold.

In 1979, she co-starred with Natalie Wood in the miniseries remake of From Here to Eternity.

The next year, the Georgia native made her feature debut in the drama Hard Country, then she worked with Charlton Heston in Mother Lode.

Her breakthrough role came as Domino Petachi, the Bond girl in Never Say Never Again with Connery in 1983.

She then posed nude for Hugh Hefner's Playboy magazine and then she appeared in The Natural with Redford.

Next came The Man Who Loved Women (1983), Blind Date (1987) and Fool for Love (1985).

She hit the Hollywood jackpot by playing the art gallery worker who catches the eye of a handsome Wall Street type played by Rourke in 9 1/2 Weeks.

The 1986 film broke new ground by tackling S&M and threesomes with an exotic, glossy music-video essence.

The role catapulted her to cult status and she will arguably be forever remembered for that role.

She then starred in Nadine in 1987 and was cast in Tim Burton's high-profile 1989 film Batman opposite Michael Keaton.

Following the success of Batman, Basinger starred with Alec Baldwin in the comedy The Marrying Man (1991), kicking off a romance.

She worked with Richard Gere in Final Analysis (1992) then she was in the bomb Cool World with Brad Pitt.

In 1993, she was in The Real McCoy, then made Wayne's World 2. In 1994, she reunited with Baldwin for the thriller The Getaway and popped up in Prêt-à-Porter.

In 1997 came one of her best films, LA Confidential, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

She said it was one of her best movie-making experiences of her life. 

She then played Eminem's mother in 2002's 8 Mile (2002) and was in The Door in the Floor (2004).

Basinger subsequently appeared in two crime thrillers: Cellular (2004) and The Sentinel (2006).

In 2008, she starred in the drama The Burning Plain and she also produced and starred in the independent thriller While She Was Out.

Then she was in The Informers (2009) and Charlie St Cloud (2010) with Zac Efron and the 2012 Nigerian drama Black November, which included her 9½ Weeks co-star Mickey Rourke.

In 2013, she was in Third Person, with Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde, and Grudge Match, with Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone, before 2016's The Nice Guys, alongside Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.

Then she had a comeback with a twisted sex film that was not too unlike 9 1/2 Weeks.  

In 2017, she played Elena Lincoln, the business partner and former lover of Christian Grey, in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades Darker.

The movie, which also , was the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey. 

Basinger reprised the role in the 2018 sequel, Fifty Shades Freed.

She would not act again until she collaborated with Peter Bogdanovich to create LIT Project 2: Flux in 2022.

Her love life has been the subject of many tabloid stories.

Basinger dated model Tim Saunders and married makeup artist Ron Snyder-Britton before she was famous.

She also romanced Jon Peters and Prince, as well as fitness trainer Phil Walsh and fashion designer Alexio Gandara.

In 1990, Basinger met her second husband, Baldwin, when they played lovers in The Marrying Man. They married in 1993 and starred in the 1994 remake of The Getaway. Their daughter, Ireland, was born in 1995.
