Katie Holmes debuted a fresh look for her hair for fall in New York City on Wednesday.

The Dawson’s Creek alum, 44, has had her brown hair long, one length and parted on the side for many years with long, side swept bangs.

But this week, she showed off her new, shorter chopped curtain bangs as she entered a building in the Big Apple.

The Alone Together star wore a chic fall look consisting of a pair of wide-legged, drawstring black pants and a black top.

The mom of Suri Cruise, 17, pulled an olive green cable knit sweater with wood buttons on the front over her ensemble.

Brown sunglasses with gold metal frames were on her face and black trainers kept her feet comfortable.

The ex-wife of Tom Cruise, 61, carried a large, chocolate brown tote bag and carried her phone in one hand.

Katie’s new shorter bangs have a 1970s vibe to them and give her hair a whole new look for the colder months ahead.

The actress stepped out with her new fringe for the first time on Monday to support her friend Melissa DeRosa’s new book:  What’s Left Unsaid: My Life at the Center of Power, Politics & Crisis, which was officially released on October 24.

DeRosa was formerly the secretary of the former Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, from 2017 until 2021.

Katie’s most recent appearance in a film was in the drama feature Rare Objects, which premiered this past April.

The movie was based on Kathleen Tessaro’s 2016 novel of the same name.

The Thank You For Smoking star directed the feature, which she also co-wrote, starred in and produced.

The movie’s cast also included Julia Mayorga, Saundra Santiago and Alan Cumming, among others.

‘When I’m directing and acting, I just feel a little bit more pressure to get my performance out of the way, because I know the whole day,’ she said in an interview with IndieWire about the project.

I’m less indulgent with myself,’ she said. ‘I feel like what is wonderful about the creative process of making a film, it’s you’re kind of putting everything, every part of yourself into it, all the time,’ she said.

The First Daughter star also expressed that she would likely continue to appear in her own movies in the future.

‘I feel like I came to it when it was right for me, and I’m excited to continue on the path. I’m always looking to see what stories inspire me, how to grow as a filmmaker and an actor,’ she stated.
