Kate Ritchie broke down live on-air Tuesday morning after Troy Cassar-Daley sang a song he was meant to perform at her wedding.
The former Home and Away star, 45, was surprised by her co-hosts Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli when the country star made an impromptu appearance on their Nova breakfast show.
During the segment, Kate couldn’t help but get emotional as she explained how Troy was due to play at her wedding to ex Stuart Webb, but was unable to attend.
‘When I got married in 2010, Troy couldn’t make the wedding and instead… sorry,’ she said, tears choking off her words.
‘You know what happened?’ the country singer said as the soap star wept, ‘I was living in Nashville and my studio was in the cupboard in this little rental house. I’ll just do a little chorus…’

He then started singing the song he composed and was supposed to perform on her big day, which was called Make the Most (of Everyday With You).
Kate continued to sob as he played a portion of the song live on-air, looking quite emotional.
But the segment wasn’t all tears, with Cassar-Daley and Ritchie also reliving their time together on the celebrity singing competition It Takes Two.

Kate sang along with Troy to the 60s hit Gimme Some Lovin’, which they first performed on the Channel Seven show in 2006.
The program, broadcasted on Seven from 2006 to 2008, paired ten cherished Australian celebrities with acclaimed singers who mentored them in pursuit of the title.
Ritchie was partnered with Cassar-Daley and secured fourth place on the show, establishing a friendship close enough that he wrote a song for her wedding.
Ritchie tied the knot with Webb, a former NRL star, in an opulent ceremony held at the Quamby Estate in Tasmania in 2010, following a year-long engagement.
They welcomed a daughter, Mae, in 2014, but parted ways after 9 years in 2020.
