The influencer, 27, dated the singer for two years, until he died in October 2024 at the age of 31, after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with and cocaine found in his system.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Kate couldn't hold back her tears in an emotional video as she detailed trying to move on amid her grief.
The blonde beauty explained that she was sitting in her basement surrounded by piles of love letters handwritten by Liam.
'Sometimes when I just feel sad I read old letters that Liam wrote me which make me more sad,' she said.
'I almost feel like people don't write letters and I have a mountain of letters and journals and books and all of these things he has left me.'

Kate continued: 'I was just reading this one letter and I have to say sometimes his handwriting is a little messy.
'So sometimes I struggle reading his letters, but for my birthday he bought me a car. I'm like shaking because I'm getting sad,' she confessed.

'I haven't read this letter in so long. I feel like if you've lost somebody, it almost helps to read a letter and think as if they wrote it literally like from heaven and they're giving it to you like today.'
Reading Liam's letter out loud, Kate said: 'I hope whenever you take a journey you remember I'm alongside you body and spirit.
'In every drive you remember how much you have driven me and all the hopes and dreams I have for your future.
'You're going to be a superstar if you learn how to love yourself the way I love you.
'So drive slow and remember to take your foot off the gas in life too. Your 20s are so difficult and you're halfway through navigating them.
'You're not lost at all my love. You're taking the gorgeous road to finding yourself and I can't wait to be there for every speed bump, left and right turn and roundabout. I love you.'
Kate then broke down in tears after struggling to get through the short note she read.
'I know he's like cheering me on from up above and he's watching me navigate through my life.

'There are moments in life when I am so unmotivated and stressed out but reading those few sentences makes me want to work harder and push myself hard to see what I can do in this lifetime.
'This is why it's so important to write your loved ones letters.'
Fans quickly took to the comments to share sweet messages to Kate and told her to 'cherish' the letters forever.
They wrote: 'You are so lucky to have those letters. I know you’ll cherish them forever; My heart melts for you; awh stop it this is so cute he loved you so much;
'Grief and loss has many layers; He is always watching over you; Omg i forget he was literally a poet bc he is a singer and of course he writes the songs; almost as if he knew you were going to need to read that one day'.

Kate recently hit back at an online troll who said that they wished she would stop talking about the late singer and move on.
She took to TikTok to declare: 'Let me tell you something, Liam Payne was my boyfriend. He wasn’t just this famous figure to me.
'It hurts so bad because I am just criticised all the time for speaking about my boyfriend that passed away, the person that I loved and still do love.
'I would never settle for anyone in this lifetime who did not feel comfortable enough with me speaking about Liam.
'Liam was a very big part of my life. He was my best friend, somebody I really thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with and, obviously, I know one day I'm going to have to move on. I want to get married one day. I want to have kids.
'When a person dies, they die twice, once when they actually die and the second time when you stop speaking about them. I'm not going to have Liam die twice on me. I will love him forever.'
