Isabel Lucas Reveals Odd Placenta Story and Sons Name

New mum Isabel Lucas has detailed a bizarre placenta story, after welcoming her first child with American partner Cyrus Sutton.  

The star, 41, gave birth to a baby boy back in December.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Isabel recounted an unusual story regarding the placenta, while revealing her son's unique name.

'Archer... our source of delight and joy. Our little beloved is filling our days with a purity of love that keeps growing.'

Continuing, Isabel revealed that she and Cyrus had buried the placenta under a tree on the couple's property.

Isabel also shared a clip of her and Cyrus burying the placenta along with clips of the actress flaunting her baby bump.   

'We recently buried his placenta beneath a small hoop pine on our land. It was our Christmas tree,' Isabel continued.

'My mum chose it for its scent and modest size, not realising it might grow 60 metres sky high.'

She added that the ritual felt like 'closure.'

'We wanted to honour the life giver and mark the threshold. The earth nourished the mother, the mother nourished the baby, and so in reciprocity the placenta returns to the earth,' she wrote.

'It felt like closure, a living prayer connecting him to his birth soil, his home and family, honouring that his roots stretch far beyond this place.'

The post was met with a flurry of comments, with fans quick to congratulate Isabel on becoming a mother.

'Congratulations. How gorgeous. You will be a great mum,' one offered, summing up the sentiments of many.   

The actress shared the news of Archer's birth in December with an Instagram post alongside a sweet image of the little boy's tiny foot cradled in his father's hand.
