's wife Kate Capshaw gave up Hollywood for painting, and her new work is being displayed at the  Presidential Center in . 

The 72-year-old star, who film Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom, posed next to her painting in an Instagram post shared on Wednesday. 

Capshaw constructed a portrait of the Obamas' late personal chef, Tafari Campbell, which is now hanging inside the museum at the onsite restaurant Tafari's Kitchen.

Campbell passed away in 2023 after drowning while paddle boarding on the Edgartown Great Pond which is located near Obama's Martha's Vineyard home. 

In a press release released last week, the Obama Foundation stated: 'It honors the award-winning former culinary team member and beloved personal chef to the Obama family who tragically passed away in 2023.' 

Capshaw paused for photos next to the portrait while wearing a pair of blue jeans as well as a white shirt and black blazer.

The star, who first met her husband on set of the 1984 film Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom, posed next to her painting in a joint Instagram post shared on Wednesday; Spielberg and Capshaw seen earlier this month in London 

Capshaw began working as a teacher before she relocated to New York City to pursue her passion for acting. 

Her first role landed her an appearance in episodes of the crime drama soap opera The Edge Of Night.

The retired actress and Spielberg, who tied the knot in 1991, are parents to seven children; seen in 2025 in London 

Over the years, her works have gained recognition. 

Back in 2019, some of her portraits were selected as a finalist in The Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition (Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery). 

Her solo exhibition, Kate Capshaw: Exclusive Tonsorial Services, was displayed at the Perez Art Museum Miami in 2024.

The National Portrait Gallery commissioned Capshaw to paint a portrait of Spielberg in 2022. 

It was first displayed last year at the Portrait of a Nation gala and will continue to be presented through October 2026. 

'I was very moved,' Capshaw told Vanity Fair in regards to being asked to do a portrait of her husband. 

'I felt the honor. I felt the heft. I know this man, and I know how large he is, and I also know how very intimate he is.'

Most recently, the award-winning director released his latest project Disclosure Day which hit theaters on June 12

While Capshaw stepped away from acting and the world of Hollywood, Spielberg has still been pursuing his own passion for filmmaking.

The cast of the sci-fi thriller includes Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo. 

The movie had a budget of $115 million and has currently raked in around $104 million in the global box office.
