The couple, who have been married for 21 years, are reportedly spending months apart so that their children can have the best possible shot at their career aspirations.

While Lleyton has been spending time overseas supporting their 17-year-old son Cruz's tennis ambitions, Bec remains back in while their daughters Ava and Mia pursue opportunities in showbusiness. 

'They are totally devoted parents and would do anything for their kids, even if it means they need to spend months apart,' a family friend told Woman's Day. 

Their changing family dynamic was reportedly the catalyst for the Hewitts to sell their six-bedroom Glenhaven family home earlier this month. 

The property, which they purchased three years ago, has been listed for a whopping $14million and features a championship-sized tennis court, resort-style swimming pool and a host of high-end amenities spread across approximately two hectares of land.

The grounds were enhanced with extensive landscaping, while the tennis court received a professional resurfacing by the same company responsible for preparing courts at the Australian Open. 

'The place they're selling is huge and even though it's a fortress with the best security money can buy, she doesn't want to be rattling around there by herself for months at a time,' the source said. 

Meanwhile, the couple are reportedly looking at buying a smaller property closer to the Sydney CBD to accommodate Mia and Ava's burgeoning careers, as well as another property in Florida or the Bahamas to act as a base for Lleyton and Cruz. 

Lleyton has been mentoring and priming Cruz for the overseas tennis circuit for some time - a situation which is unlikely to change as the young athlete's career begins to take off. 

Meanwhile Mia, 20, a model and musician, may also be considering moving out of the family home in the near future, especially if her rock star boyfriend Vanda Erich pops the question.

And the youngest Hewitt child Ava, 16, may also be preparing to move out . 

They met on the tennis court for a charity game at the Starlight Cup back in 1999.
