Love Island star George Knight has revealed he left the villa due to family reasons as he broke his silence on his departure from the reality show.

Just days after heading to Mallorca as a bombshell, announced on Thursday that the professional footballer would be leaving the show for 'private reasons'.

And now George has returned to his Instagram as he shared a snap with who appeared to be his sister Emma Knight and their dog, as he penned: 'Family comes first, always.

'Leaving the @loveisland Villa was a decision made in order to be with my family. Out of respect for them, I’d prefer not to go into any further detail.

'Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind messages and support! It genuinely means a lot.'

Emma also took to the comments as she replied: 'love george' and George added a series of love heart emojis.

In a statement on Thursday said: 'For private reasons, George has left the Love Island Villa. We have a duty of care towards George and as such will not be commenting further.'

The star still featured in Thursday and Friday night's episodes.

The professional footballer, from Winchester, arrived in the villa on Tuesday alongside fellow bombshell Yasmin Hadlow.

And on Friday two stunning new bombshells Namibia and Victoria entered the villa ready to shake things up at the end of Friday night's episode.

Namibia, 25, from Leeds, and Victoria, also 25, from Manchester, touched down on the island after an explosive recoupling.

'Finding love. I haven’t got time for drama. But if someone comes to me, I’ll back myself. I won’t start it, but I’ll finish it', Namibia said.

The recoupling caused chaos during the episode as Mica chose to recouple with Robyn's love interest George - who left the villa on Thursday for 'personal reasons'.

After making their choice of who to couple up with, it left Robyn frustrated after seeing their potential connection paired up with someone else.

In a statement on Thursday ITV said: 'For private reasons, George has left the Love Island Villa. We have a duty of care towards George and as such will not be commenting further'

Despite the decision, George and Robyn headed up to the terrace just minutes after the recoupling and shared a kiss.

Meanwhile, Mica told the girls: 'I am happy with George, I'm super happy with everything.'

Priya and Kavan - who is existing contestant Aidan's brother - entered on Thursday night after Ellie and Samraj were brutally dumped.

But in an unexpected turn of events they weren't actually banished from the Island and instead got to date the new bombshells.

It meant Priya and Kavan were given the chance to choose who they wanted to recouple with first.

Standing before his fellow Islanders, Kavan was the first to pick, revealing the motivations behind his chosen partner.

After exploring connections with both Ellie and Jasmine, he admitted: 'It's been a very hard decision… but the girl I would like to couple up with is, Ellie.'

Next up Priya revealed her choice while confessing: 'There's definitely something there I'd like to explore…

'He has made me feel super comfortable and there is something there I would like to explore. So the boy I would like to couple up with is, Samraj.'

Kavan was keen to explore his options during the episode by getting to know the girls.

He first pulled Ellie for a chat, sparking clear flirty tension and shared a kiss.

Next, Kavan pulled Jasmine for a chat. She told him: 'You shocked me.' Adding that when he arrived, she thought: 'That man is cute!'

Kavan agreed: 'I feel like we've got something,' and asks what she'd do if he chose her in the recoupling.

'Yeah, I'd be happy with that…' she confirmed.
