Ellen DeGeneres may have left the United Kingdom for Santa Barbara hoping for sunshine, but what she got was more rain.

DeGeneres's on-again haunt had been hit by a downpour by the time she stepped out to the gym for a morning workout on Thursday.
The former talk show queen, 68, emerged from one of her several Porsches wearing a baggy sweatshirt over a dark T-shirt and comfortable-looking pants.
She was squinting beneath her baseball cap and no doubt made a run for cover having brought no umbrella.
DeGeneres was also sporting a pair of trendy Nike athletic shoes, which likely allowed her to sprint to the gym's entrance with ease.

The sighting comes three months after she and longtime partner Portia de Rossi, 53, snapped up a $27.4 million home in Montecito, California, a surprising move since they made such a point of making the UK their home base.

But it turns out they haven't abandoned their adopted home country just yet and don’t plan on living in California full time, per Us Weekly.
'They are still planning to live full-time in the UK but will spend a few months of the year in Montecito,’ a source told the outlet.

Earlier this month, the couple were seen for the first time since the real estate purchase as they took to social media to share photos of themselves goofing around in costumes in the backyard of their new mansion.
'6-7 is out. 6-8 is in. @yourchilltias,' DeGeneres wrote in the caption, referring to her favorite media account. She's previously cited them as a source of amusement.
In recent weeks DeGeneres has been spotted out and about in the Golden State’s upscale Central Coast region where famous neighbors include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The comedian and the Ally McBeal alum left the US for the Cotswolds in November 2024 shortly after the US presidential election.
'They had visited before and looked at homes but weren't sure when they would do it. When they found the right place, they jumped on it,' a source told Us Weekly.

Ellen previously said that 'everything' is 'just better' in the UK, and that she's been enjoying her new lifestyle.
DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi made the surprising move back to the celebrity enclave of Montecito in November when they bought Hollywood movie producer Brian Glazer's estate

'It's absolutely beautiful,' she told broadcaster Richard Bacon. 'We're just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture - everything you see is charming and it's just a simpler way of life.
'It's clean. Everything here is just better - the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here.'
Initially viewed as a transatlantic getaway home, DeGeneres confirmed the move to the UK was made because of President Donald Trump’s re-election. 'We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, "He got in'. And we're like, "We're staying here."'
As it turns out, the couple aren't done buying and selling high-end real estate because on January 30, DeGeneres was seen touring another $35 million beachfront mansion in Montecito, according to the New York Post, a sign that she may be ready to add to her real estate portfolio in the area.
