A source told New Idea magazine that the famed TV vet was not a fan of the high-flying billionaire's 'flashy' style and did not like his negative comments about rival show The Block and its host, Scott Cam.
'Let’s just say, Chris wasn’t a fan [of Portelli] at all,' the insider told the magazine.
'Adrian’s flashy persona may make for compelling television, but it didn’t exactly win over his co-star.
'Chris is down-to-earth and just wasn’t a fan of Adrian’s style at all,' they said, adding that Brown thought Portelli was 'over the top'.
Brown reportedly voiced concern over Portelli's negative statements about The Block host Scott Cam.

'Chris has a strong reputation and is protective of it,' the source said.
'If there’s negative press, of course, he’d be mindful of how that reflects on the show – and on him,' they said.
The controversial LMCT+ billionaire attacked Channel Nine last year, accusing them of undervaluing his contribution after the big spender dropped a whopping $12 million on the 2024 Block auctions.
And last August, Portelli attacked Cam online, branding him a 'clown' just weeks before My Reno Rules was scheduled to go before the cameras.
According to the insider, the host and the sponsor were entirely professional when performing their on-air duties, but it was obvious to the cast and crew that there was strong tension between the pair.
