Doctor Slams Bec Zacharias Ridiculous Barbie Waist Surgery

A doctor has weighed in on the controversial 'Barbie Waist' surgery Bec Zacharia has spent weeks flip-flopping over.

On Thursday, Dr Sam Hay, also known as Dr KIIS, made an appearance on the KIIS Breakfast Podcast to share his thoughts on the 'ridiculous' body modification.

'I get really nervous about people going overseas and getting surgeries like this,' he said. 

'It's unnecessary. It comes with complications, infections. The aftercare in these countries for this medical tourism is not great. I think it's ridiculous.'

The MAFS bride shared a video on Instagram on Tuesday where she documented the process after initially backing out.

First, Bec confessed that she had been misleading her fans into believing she had already had the work done, before vanishing from social media for several days.

'I've been lying to you. I haven't had surgery yet. I've been in Bali, it's been almost three weeks,' she said at the start of the video.

She then explained that she was heading into the hospital that same day.

'It's been not any fault of my own, but today is the day. I know I promised you guys transparency, so I'm actually gonna take you in with me,' she said.

Bec said she hoped to silence critics and those branding her trip to Bali for the surgery as a PR stunt.

'There are delays in life, ones that I can't control,' she added, before explaining that she would be sharing every step of the process on social media.

The reality star was then shown arriving at the clinic, where she stripped down into a hospital gown and was attached to IV drips.
