Married At First Sight groom Danny Hewitt has revealed the truth behind one of the season's biggest bombshell moments - when bride Bec Zacharia .
Speaking to Daily Mail, Danny, 34, admitted the confession caught him completely off guard, insisting he had no warning it was coming.
'Normally when a girl tells you they love you, they give you like breadcrumbs beforehand,' he said.
'Bec didn't give me any breadcrumbs. She didn't allude to it. She didn't give me hints. Then it just came out of nowhere.'
The shock moment unfolded after the pair's romantic weekend away, which appeared to strengthen their once rocky relationship.
But while Bec seemed ready to take the next step, Danny confessed he wasn't quite there yet emotionally.

'Bec's obviously a bit ahead of me with the feelings,' he admitted.
'You can't force love. You're either going to love someone or you're not. I'm just going with the flow and seeing where it goes.'
According to Danny, their romantic getaway played a major role in intensifying Bec's feelings.
The couple had endured a turbulent start to the experiment, including a difficult honeymoon and ongoing clashes with other participants.
But things shifted after the retreat, when Danny defended Bec during a heated confrontation and removed her from the chaos.
He believes that moment changed the way she saw him.
'She mentioned that I was a safe space, which was a nice thing to hear,' he said.
'I think that's what really amplified Bec's feelings.'
Danny also joked that their romantic weekend together may have sealed the deal.
'You'd be hard pressed to find a woman in the world who could spend a romantic weekend away with me and not fall in love,' he laughed.

Danny also weighed in on the controversial attempt by producers to .
Despite repeated attempts by producers to arrange a confrontation, Danny claims Gia has avoided the situation.
'Every time they try and do it, I show up and Gia doesn't,' he said.
'If that's not the sign of a guilty person, I don't know what is.'
However, the outspoken groom insists he has already moved on from the feud.
'I've buried the hatchet with Gia. I don't hold grudges. I wish her all the best,' he added.
Danny revealed he would have actually welcomed the chance to sit down with Gia and offer honest feedback about her relationship with husband Scott.
'I would've been very positive towards her,' he said.
'I love the way Scott's taken her daughter into his life. I think they stand pretty united.'
But he also hinted the pair could have delivered some brutally honest advice to each other.
'We would've been ruthless with each other because she's not my biggest fan and I'm not her biggest fan.'

The 'receipts' drama dividing the cast
Another storyline dominating the experiment has been the ongoing feud between brides over leaked messages and screenshots.
But Danny says he believes viewers are already over the drama.
'I think everyone in Australia is sick of these receipts. Who cares?' he said.
He also suggested some of the brides have been more focused on the drama than their relationships.
'I feel like some of the girls in the experiment are so focused on how their relationship is portrayed, or the drama in group chats, that they're not focusing on their actual relationships.'
'If they put all that energy into their relationships, this season would have been the most successful ever.'
The surprising similarity between two couples
Bec Zacharia declared just over a week before Dinner Party #2 that she was going to 'go so f**king hard on Alissa and her fake relationship'

'I rock the English style. People don't like my fashion, but that's how I want to dress. I don't care.'
With the season continuing to deliver explosive moments, Danny hinted that viewers have not yet seen the full story of his relationship with Bec.
And if the love confession is anything to go by, their journey may still have plenty of twists ahead.
