Cruz Beckham took a leaf out of his brother Brooklyn's book on Friday as he shared a video of himself whipping up a bowl of soup. 

Aspiring chef Brooklyn, 27, often posts video of his creations on social media, and even had a short-lived series, Cookin' with Brooklyn.

And it seems that the aspiring chef's love of the culinary arts has rubbed off on Cruz, despite their estrangement, as the singer, 21, was keen to show off his cooking skills of his own. 

Cruz took to to document himself making a cheesy potato soup finished off with a topping of bacon bits. 

While the end product wasn't particularly appealing to look at, Cruz was able to poke fun at himself as he captioned the clip: 'wanna see the best cooking video ever? Don’t watch this then.'

He later insisted in the comments that while the soup looked 'gross' it was still 'decent'. 

Cruz also had some fun when he reposted the video on Instagram, jokingly warning family friend Gordon Ramsay to 'watch out'.

Last week, Cruz expressed his hopes at reconciling with Brooklyn after wishing him a happy birthday.

The Beckham clan united in wishing the aspiring chef a happy 27th birthday on Wednesday, yet their posts were not publicly acknowleged. 

Cruz was asked about the fallout the following day while out with his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, saying 'Happy Birthday' when asked if he had a message for Brooklyn.

When the TMZ reporter asked Cruz if he had spoken to Brooklyn at all, he did not respond, though did say he 'hoped to' repair his fractured relationship with his sibling.

An insider told ET that Brooklyn wants to put an end to any attempt from his parents to contact him, including on social media, following their bitter falling out.

A source told the publication: 'Brooklyn and Nicola are disheartened they chose to make public Instagram posts for his birthday.

'These are the exact type of performative public actions that Brooklyn has been trying to put an end to, to no avail.

'Last summer they issued a legal letter to his parents requesting that any correspondence go through lawyers.'

Alongside the snaps, they wrote: 'Happy birthday Brooklyn. Hope you have a fabulous day. With love from Grandad and Hilary.'

The most recent reports suggest Brooklyn is on speaking terms with his grandfather Ted and his wife Hilary, even though he remains estranged from his parents. He’s reportedly been in regular contact with them.
