A controversial content creator has revealed she makes millions of dollars every year by leaning into 'rage-bait' culture.

Annie Knight, , is renowned for sharing her wild and X-rated stories online.

Her videos often attract online hate from critics, but the sex worker, 29, tells Daily Mail the controversy and outrage are what make her so successful.

She says she realised early in her adult career that outrage brings attention, and attention turns into subscribers.

'Yes, I got to a point where I'd been doing  full time for about a year and I realised media attention gets lots of subscribers,' she says.

'People see you, they subscribe to you, and I noticed that every time I got written about, my subscribers would spike.'

'I also realised the things that perform best online are things people are angry at. Rage bait is absolutely a thing. People love to hate people,' she adds.

'The more eyes on you, whether the feedback is negative or positive, means you're reaching more people and a lot of those people are willing to subscribe.

'I started thinking, what can I do that's going to grab people's attention?'

Annie says it was at that point that she decided to openly talk about her sexual experiences online, sparing not a single graphic detail.

'I knew people would hate it, but I also knew some people would love it enough to subscribe. People went crazy,' she admits.

'They were saying horrible things, but the more people commented, the more viral my videos went, the more subscribers I earned.

'Then media outlets started picking it up too. I definitely realised very quickly that controversy was profitable.'

Annie says once she became publicly labelled 'Australia's Most Sexually Active Woman', she felt pressure to keep escalating the controversy.

What does it say about our society that controversy and outrage can make someone a millionaire online?

What's your view?

Her videos often attract online hate from critics, but the sex worker tells Daily Mail the controversy and outrage are what make her so successful

'I reckon I would've missed out on like five million dollars,' she adds.

However, Annie says there's still a line creators shouldn't cross.

'I think there's definitely a limit. If you become too controversial, you can box yourself in and limit future opportunities,' she cautions.

'If you offend people or disrespect groups of people, that's when it can go very wrong. I've always tried to stay within my morals.'

Annie says she also goes to great lengths to not offend other women, admitting it can be limiting 'if women don't like you'.

'If I wanted to do TV presenting or brand deals with fashion companies, they're not going to want to work with me if women aren't interested in what I have to say,' she says.

'Obviously with OnlyFans you're going to attract men, that's the goal, but if you want longevity and future opportunities, female audiences matter a lot.

'I'm not going to disrupt my peace just for views and clicks anymore. At this point, I'm just being myself and how people perceive that is up to them.'
