The couple had intended on honeymooning in and the U.K., but those plans were put on hold due to the 'chaos' surrounding his album release.

Speaking with The Daily Mail at the 2026 Queerties, where he was nominated for Breakout Musical Artist, Mac revealed how they now finally taking a long-overdue wedding for their first wedding anniversary.

'Well, we didn't get to do a honeymoon because I had an album coming out, and there was a lot of chaos, so we're probably... have a little getaway and do like a belated honeymoon.'

Mac and his partner Lee Pfund tied the knot last year in a romantic Sedona ceremony

'We have been together for eight years at that point, so like, not much has changed in our everyday life, but that's good, right?' he said.

Mac and Pfund wed last year in a sunrise ceremony atop Baby Bell Rock in Sedona, Arizona, Us Weekly reported at the time.

At the time, the newlyweds planned on having a honeymoon in the U.K. and Italy.

The trip would mark Mac and Pfund's first time travelling to Europe, with the country star telling Us they were 'really excited to see all the things and explore.'

Country singer Adam moved to Nashville at age 22 and came out as gay the following year, according to People.

In 2023, Mac sparked headlines after he removed himself from the lineup of the Tobacco Festival in Russellville, Kentucky after learning there were fears about him 'promoting homosexuality or sexuality in a family friendly environment.'

The musician — who is a Russellville native — revealed the news in a video statement shared to Instagram, where he claimed that someone who worked on the board contacted him directly to share concerns over his performance.

It was also alleged that people in town were angered that a member of the LGBTQIA+ community was headlining the annual festival and planned to hold a protest at the show — something Mac called 'disheartening.'

He said: 'It's hard for me to say this but I think the best move forward is to cancel the show and let them book someone else who will not be as controversial I guess'.

He previously told People he came out a year after moving to Nashville:  'I had lived my whole life just terrified to come out and to tell anybody who I was,' he told the outlet in 2022.

'And then when I moved to Nashville, it hit me that I didn't see anybody else like me in country music, so I didn't think they would want me, and it certainly wasn't going to be a place where I could thrive.'

After a pause, he added: 'I struggled with that for a really long time.'

However Adam overcame the fear.

'I don't really care what anybody else's perception of me is or their opinion of me is or if I belong here or not.

'I'm just doing what I love and just making music that fulfills me.'
