Charli XCX Dares in Sheer Lace at Afterparty

Charli XCX turned heads at the Met Gala afterparty in New York City on Monday as she attended the event in a very racy sheer dress.

The Brat star, 33, left little to the imagination as she went braless in a figure-hugging lace garment with a floral pattern.

She also flashed her underwear in the skimpy outfit which featured a high leg split and long sleeves. 

Charli added height to her frame with a pair of black heels and completed her look with trendy sunglasses. 

For the gala itself, Charli slipped into a black strapless gown which featured a floral design and a two-meter train.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, known as the , falls on the first Monday in May every year.

The theme of this year's event - widely considered the  of celebrity red carpets - was 'Costume Art', while the dress code is 'Fashion Is Art.' 

The dress code called on the A-list attendees to explore how designers use the human body as a blank canvas. 

The  museum paired historical and contemporary garments from the Costume Institute for the exhibition, which was loosely divided into three categories, including the classical and the nude body, ageing and pregnant bodies, and the anatomical body. 

French luxury fashion house Yves Saint Laurent sponsored the exhibit.

The 2026 Met Gala had a host committee that included co-chairs Anthony Vaccarello and Zoe Kravitz, along with members Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Angela Bassett, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor and more. 

Costume Art will run from May 10, 2026 through January 10, 2027.

Wintour has famously been incredibly hands-on with the Met Gala over the years and is credited with making it the splashy A-list affair it has become. 

This year's gala was marred with controversy over Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 62, and his wife Lauren Sanchez sponsoring the event. 

The couple reportedly gave $10 million to the Costume Institute in exchange for being named honorary co-chairs.
