Robert Carradine's death certificate has been released following his .
The certificate reveals that Carradine, who died at 71, was cremated and had his ashes scattered at sea off the coast of Los Angeles County, according to a copy obtained on Tuesday by TMZ.
His death certificate also confirms that Carradine died at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
It was previously reported that the late actor had died by suicide.
According to a case file from the County Medical Examiner obtained by the Daily Mail, Carrdine died by hanging, which caused an anoxic brain injury brought on by total oxygen deprivation.
Following Carradine's death last month, his actor brother Keith Carradine revealed that his sibling took his own life after a 'nearly ,' a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings.

Robert's family said in a statement to the Daily Mail: 'It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has .

'We are bereft at the loss of this beautiful soul and want to acknowledge Bobby's valiant struggle against his nearly two-decade battle with Bipolar Disorder,' they continued. 'We hope his journey can shine a light and encourage addressing the stigma that attaches to mental illness.
He and his brothers were part of the Carradine acting dynasty, which also included their father, Stagecoach actor Robert Carradine, who died in 1988, and Keith's daughter, Martha Plimpton.
Robert's daughter Ever Carradine is also an actress best known for stints on The Handmaid's Tale and Runaways.
His half-brother David died in 2009 in Thailand at 72.
