At one point, Spears stretched both arms across the roof of the moving vehicle and threw her head back in a pose reminiscent of one of her iconic music videos, seemingly unfazed by the steady stream of traffic around her.
With her blonde hair whipping in the wind, the singer put on quite the spectacle in a plunging mini dress as the SUV continued along the packed freeway at around 45mph.
Now, she has taken to her Instagram on Saturday to address the controversy as she wrote: 'Arching my back to the heavens to god trying to get back all the years I missed….
'unfortunately what people didn’t see is what my reality used to look like in the next photo. Not anymore!'
