The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is directed by returning filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, from a screenplay by returning screenwriter Matthew Fogel, with Brian Tyler returning to compose the score.
The new movie comes as a new report revealed the video gaming industry is worth more than twice the music and film industries combined.
According to a Forbes report, the gaming industry generated an estimated $184.4 billion, while the music industry generated $26.2 billion and the movies generated $26 billion in box office revenue.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will hit screens in the US on April 1 and cinemas in the UK on April 3.
