's first song from her new pop star movie Mother Mary was released on Thursday.

In Burial, Hathaway hits a sultry note as she sings, 'I'll kill you softly / So sweetly, kindly / I'm mesmerizing, it's terrifying’ along with the repeated refrain, ‘This is your burial,' according to JustJared.

The song was co-written by the actress, 43, Charli XCX and George Daniel, who is Charli's husband and drummer for The 1975. Jack Antonoff also has writing credit on the synth-pop track.

A24's Mother Mary is described as 'psychosexual pop melodrama' and features Hathaway as a chaotic pop icon.

It revolves around a tumultuous reunion between the singer and her former costume designer, played by Michaela Coel.

The film is directed by David Lowery and features other original songs by Charli XCX, and Antonoff, along with . Burial is the only song co-written and sung by Hathaway, who also .

A24 released the song plus a 30-second YouTube video from Mother Mary entitled Greatest Hits (Official Album Teaser).

In the video, Hathaway is depicted as Mother Mary performing Burial and other songs on stage to a crowd.

The movie co-stars Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Alba Baptista, Isaura Barbé-Brown, Sian Clifford and FKA twigs.

The song and the video are the latest tidbits since December when A24 dropped the first trailer for the movie, which will arrive in theaters in limited release on April 17 before going nationwide on April 24.

The trailer shows Hathaway as the troubled singer performing in front of a stadium of people while dressed in dazzling leotards and gowns created by the film’s costume designer Bina Daigeler, who also worked on Mulan and Tar.

At one point, Hathaway was seen wearing a large spiked tiara and at another, she boasted two-tone platinum locks.
