Andi Peters Stunned as Winner Hangs Up Live

 was left stunned after a prize winner hung up the phone on him while on live TV.

The television presenter, 55, appears on  and Lorraine to share the programmes' competitions.

On Friday's GMB episode, Andi called up the winner to share news of their victory, only to face an unexpected twist.

He said on the show: 'Good morning Leah, it’s Andi Peters, you’re live on ITV1, please don’t say anything fruity today.'

From there, Andi asked whether she was driving and whether she was able to pull over and speak to him.

Leah replied: 'I’ve just gotta drop my daughter off at school.'

Andi responded: 'Do you want me to call you back in a little bit?'

Leah said: 'Yes, call me back in a bit', as Andi said: 'I’ll call you back, Leah make sure you answer when I call you back, I’ve got some good news for you.'

She proceeded to hang up the phone while Andi and others in studio reacting with surprise.

He then said: 'That is a first. Leah, I’ll call you back a little bit later.'

The camera then picked up with main presenters Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway - with the former saying the moment deserved an EastEnders 'Duff Duff'.

One viewer wrote on X: '“These phone calls are so awkward and why I don’t enter.'

Another shared: 'Love this, good on Leah, her kid needs to go to school.' 

Back in December 2025, Andi fought back tears on Friday's episode of Good Morning Britain after the show's competition winner’s heart-wrenching reaction to scoring the jackpot.

, 51, and , 50, returned to the studio to share the latest news and headlines with those watching at home.

Andi, 52, who appears on and Lorraine to share the programme's competitions, was back in the studio to tell one lucky viewer that they got their hands on cash and prizes worth more than £245,000. 

After trying to get hold of the winner a number of times, Andrea from Bangor finally picked up and he told her the good news. 

Andi asked her: 'Do you recognise my voice? It's me off the telly.'

He continued: 'Did you enter a competition to win a prize on ITV? Are you over 18 Andrea? Are you the bill payer for this phone? 

'Well Andrea, I've got some good news for you. You have just won... brace yourself... 35 individual prizes, two cars and £120,000.'

Andrea couldn't contain her emotion and burst into tears.

She said: 'Oh my goodness.' 

Andi asked: 'Can you believe it?!'  

Andrea told him: 'No! Oh my goodness. This is true?'

'This is definitely true... How does this moment feel?' Andi asked her.

Crying with happiness, Andrea said: 'Oh my goodness, thank you so, so much. Thank you. Oh my goodness.'

Andi asked her: 'Is the money going to make a difference?'

'A massive difference. A massive difference. Oh my goodness,' Andrea said.

Andi told her: 'Andrea, congratulations. Thank you so much for watching the show. Have the best Christmas ever.' 

Andrea told him that she 'certainly' would and Andi told her: 'You're more than welcome.'

Looking over at the crew, he continued: 'Oh she's going to make me upset. 

'You're more than welcome. Alright? Take care!'

As Andi put the phone down, his voice broke and he said: 'Oh my goodness. I love this bit of the job. 

'I genuinely do. Congratulations Andrea. We will be in touch with you shortly.' 

As the camera went back to Charlotte, she said: 'That was such a special moment.' 

Andi is well known for being a TV presenter. 

He started his career in children's telly and joined ITV In 2014. 

Over the years he's hosted the likes of The Broom Cupboard, Two Two and Live and Kicking. 

He's also produced The Noise, The O-Zone, Top of the Pops and Shipwrecked.
