has called for Sir to be ‘kicked out’ over delays to the Prime Minister’s plans to introduce a social media ban for under-16s.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, who is the mother of daughters Lexi, 20, and Hollie, 14, said she was frustrated by the pace of progress and vowed to strip social media access from her youngest daughter’s phone.

Speaking on her Heart FM breakfast show, she said: ‘I mean, raising the age is something that I think every person in this country is for. I don’t know why Keir Starmer is taking so much time.

‘I’m going to be very cynical and say he’s only doing it because he needs some sort of boost to his leadership. If he’s using it for that, then good luck but we should still kick him out.

‘I don’t know how we’re going to legislate it. I have no idea. All I know is I’m wiping everything on my daughter’s phone. She has private accounts but all going. She’s going to hate me but I don’t care.

‘I’m really ballsy about it because Keir Starmer and all that lot are really getting on my nerves about it.’

Her comments come amid growing pressure on ministers to introduce tougher safeguards for children online.

The Prime Minister is understood to be considering restrictions on children’s access to social media after a nationwide consultation on online safety measures closed last month.

London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan has backed proposals that would require technology companies to prove their platforms are safe for children or risk being barred from offering services to under-16s.

And it is not the first time Amanda has publicly challenged the Prime Minister.

Last year, she used a live episode of Britain’s Got Talent to urge Sir Keir to compensate victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal without delay.

After a live semi-final performance by Hear Our Voice – a choir made up of people directly affected by the scandal – Amanda told viewers: ‘I never ever use this show as any kind of political platform, but I’m going to say, if Keir Starmer actually wants to do something and make a difference as a prime minister, do it now!’

Fellow judge, Alesha Dixon, said she was 'thrilled' that the group had each other for support, while Simon Cowell raged that those in charge at the time were 'disgusting' and demanded justice for those affected by the scandal.

'This story is horrendous,' he said, before commending the group for transforming something 'miserable into something positive.'

Do you think the Government should press ahead with a social media ban for under-16s, or are there better ways to keep children safe online?
