competitor Jourdan Blue was taken into custody on Saturday in  in connection with multiple charges - including suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The singer-songwriter, 24, was also charged with driving on a suspended license; driving with an open container; and careless operation, according to a report from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reviewed by EW.

Blue was subsequently released from custody Saturday, according to authorities.

Blue, nicknamed the 'Bourbon Street Soul Singer,' was a fan favorite on the series. In one episode, awarded the soulful crooner a Golden Buzzer honor after delivering a rousing rendition of Breakeven by The Script.

Blue appeared on the NBC variety series last year for its 20th season, and came in third place.

Daily Mail has reached out to Blue and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office for further comment on the story.

Blue has a strong following on TikTok, as he has 864,600 followers, with his account having garnered more than 3.4 million likes.

Blue said he almost died of a drug overdose during a timeframe he 'was in a really dark place and made some bad decisions.

'I ended up overdosing,' he said. 'The people around me got scared and left. The next day, some of them came back and said, "Jourdan, you were dead." It was a miracle.'

The near-fatal experience 'put everything into perspective,' Blue said - and led him to cease using drugs.

'It wasn't intentional, but I realized my whole life could have been gone from one dumb decision,' Blue said. 'I quit cold turkey - stopped everything. It was hard, but the reward was so much bigger than the struggle.'

Blue, who is father to a son named Jax, said that he hopes to pass on his musical passions, and the life lessons they impart, on his child.

'Performing on that stage isn't just about me; it's about showing my son that no matter how dark or dangerous things get, you can come through it and create something beautiful,' said Blue. 'That's the message I hope he carries with him, and the one I'm living every day.'
