Sabrina Carpenter Fans React as Kidz Bop Cleans Up Her Racy Hit

Sabrina Carpenter fans are in shock after Kidz Bop transformed one of her raciest tracks of all time into a PG-rated kids’ anthem.

At first, many TikTok users assumed the audio circulating online was an AI parody, given the song’s overtly sexual themes.

But it turns out the children’s music franchise really did scrub the pop star’s hit, Tears, of its explicit lyrics by replacing lines about foreplay and sexual excitement with lyrics celebrating ‘responsible’ behavior.

Influencer Ben Kearney helped push the discovery viral by joking that he ‘leaped out of bed’ when he saw Kidz Bop tackled Tears.

His reaction video on TikTok, alone, has racked up more than 5.3 million views and 615,900 likes.

To censor the mature lyrics, Kidz Bop radically rewrote the song’s most suggestive lines.

In the original, Carpenter sings, ‘I get wet at the thought of you / Treating me like you’re supposed to do / Tears run down my thighs.’

In Kidz Bop’s kid-friendly version, the sentiment is rewritten into something that feels more like a chore chart reward: ‘I just smile at the thought of you / Being a responsible guy / Tears fall from my eyes.’

Instead of promising sexual favors in exchange for domestic effort, the rewritten track praises simple life skills.

Carpenter’s ‘A little communication… that’s my ideal foreplay’ becomes ‘A little communication… yes, that’s my ideal of the day.’

And the cheeky Ikea-assembly innuendo shifts from her flirtatious ‘I’m like, ‘Uh’ to a chipper ‘I’m like, ‘Yeah!’

Fans complained the new version doesn’t just remove the sexual edge, it fundamentally transforms the song’s meaning.

What was once a sultry celebration of adult intimacy becomes an ode to respectful multitaskers who offer help around the house.

As expected, the reaction online has been immediate and unfiltered.

Many listeners say Kidz Bop has crossed a line by making something that sounds like a full-blown parody.

Many referenced the group’s notorious attempt to sanitize Cardi B’s 2020 track, WAP, with one fan sighing, ‘I thought they learned their lesson after the WAP incident.’

Others questioned why Kidz Bop chose Tears at all, joking, ‘They could’ve picked any song – and TEARS was the one they chose.’

One exasperated TikTok user wrote that ‘some songs just can’t be made kid-friendly – you can’t unassociate the real meaning,’ while another declared that Kidz Bop ‘needs to be stopped.’

More dramatic viewers labeled the adaptation ‘diabolical’ and insisted they be compensated for ’emotional distress.’

But it turns out the kid's music franchise really did scrub the pop star's sexual hit of its explicit lyrics by replacing lines about foreplay with lyrics celebrating 'responsible' behavior

Others said that sanitizing sexual songs while keeping their context is ‘insane and creepy.’

Others simply couldn’t process the tonal whiplash, laughing that ‘Sabrina Carpenter and Kidz Bop just can’t be mixed.’

One TikTok users quipped that ‘just because you made it kid-friendly doesn’t mean we forget the original.’

While some fans admitted the re-imagined lyrics were unintentionally hilarious, many argued the new lyrics actually made the track feel weirder.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Carpenter’s representatives for comment, but have not heard back, at this time.
