Allison Langdon has issued a powerful statement defending Channel Nine’s decision to interview notorious porn star Bonnie Blue on Monday’s episode of A Current Affair.
The host responded amid an online pile-on after the notorious 26-year-old UK-born sex worker announced that she planned to visit Australia to create content for her adult content platform.
Bonnie Blue – whose real name is Tia Billinger – had earlier planned to visit Australia for Schoolies Week – an annual celebration attended by recent school-leavers – but had had her visa revoked.
Langdon defended the controversial chat as a way of ‘sparking’ a broader conversation about the ‘impact’ that violent pornography has on both sexes.
‘Why on earth would we agree to sit down with Bonnie Blue? Honestly, it’s a question our team grappled with for a while,’ Allison wrote in an article published on Nine‘s website on Monday.
‘But the conclusion we came to is: it is our job to tell stories about the things that are happening in the world – and not just the good parts.

‘Bonnie Blue exists, and she’s not going away. We aren’t handing her a platform by interviewing her – she already has one.
‘And we think anyone who is a parent – or a grandparent – needs to know who she is. Because your teenagers probably do.’
Elsewhere in Langdon’s defence of ACA’s interview with Blue, the host justified the chat because it was a story that she said ‘could not be ignored and should be confronted’.
This is because the adult actress was ‘targeting young boys,’ Langdon wrote.
‘We want parents to feel empowered enough to speak to their kids about what they consume online, and the impact it can have on their lives,’ she penned.
‘It’s a chance to spark a broader conversation about the impact violent porn has on both sexes – content that we know some are watching from as young as 11.’
Several viewers were angered by the chat and posted to social media to share their incensed reactions.
‘My niece/nephews see an interview on ACA and the term “group sex” being used at 7pm,’ one person on X posted.

‘This is why parents have got to be across what kids are exposed to. Because trash shows like A Current Affair are talking orgies with Bonnie Blue in prime time.’
Another Nine viewer responded on X: ‘I started watching the Current Affair interview with this Bonnie Blue woman… Why give her a platform on National TV?
‘I can’t see she’s got any redeeming qualities (and she) demeans women.’
One viewer urged the ABC’s ‘media watchdog’ Media Watch to take a closer look at Ally’s ‘bold’ sit-down with the OnlyFans model.
Another person tuning in at home took aim at both Blue and the long-running current affairs show on X.
‘Do Americans still have their A Current Affair? Has it tumbled as far as ours?’ they began.
‘In my opinion, parents are getting too f***ing lazy. But it’s nutty to have, “I want to f*** high school seniors” on TV and flop every question into “maybe you should watch your kids”.’
Another X user summed up how many viewers felt: ‘A Current Affair interviewing Bonnie Blue[?] They’re really scraping the barrel.’

Just ahead of the government’s decision to revoke her visa, Blue had sketched out a plan to visit Schoolies on the Gold Coast and offer free sex to 18-year-old boys, provided they let her film it and upload the content to her OnlyFans account.
During her ACA chat, Blue revealed she still wanted to go ahead with her stunt, despite being barred from entry to Australia for four years.
Blue hinted she could be back Down Under in a matter of weeks to attend the Schoolies celebration, which typically occurs in late November and early December.
‘I don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say I’ve got good lawyers and I will be doing schoolies this year,’ Blue told Langdon.
Shocked, Langdon replied: ‘I cannot believe the Australian Government is allowing you back into the country.’
‘A good lawyer gets you a very long way, maybe even Down Under,’ Blue teased.
The Department of Home Affairs cancelled Blue’s 12-month visitor visa late last year.
They subsequently banned her from re-entering the country, because of her plans to undertake paid work, which is illegal under the conditions of her visa.
