Zara McDermott wishes her fur babies a happy Valentine’s Day following her split from Sam Thompson – as he spends day with sister Louise

Zara McDermott took to Instagram on Friday to wish her beloved cats, Albus and Cedric, a happy Valentine’s Day. 

The former Love Island star, 28, who is currently exploring Thailand for her upcoming documentary series, revealed to her followers that she’s missing her adorable pets as she shared a series of sweet snaps.

In the photos, Zara looked radiant and full of joy as she posed with her beloved fur babies. 

The star, who recently parted ways with ex-boyfriend Sam Thompson, 32, after five years together, looked effortlessly chic in a grey top and stylish, faded black denim jeans. 

She captioned the adorable Valentine’s Day snaps: ‘happy Valentine’s Day tiny little bears.❤️’ 

‘I love you more than life !!! You are two of the best things that have ever happened to me… (love heart emoji) Is it normal to shed a tear when looking at pics of your cats when you’re away from them ?? Asking for a friend (laughing emoji).’ 

Her post comes after her ex, Sam, shared an emotional moment with his sister Louise, as they spent Valentine’s Day together to ‘celebrate a different kind of love’ following his split from the star.

The pair live next door to each other and in a new Instagram post on Friday, the siblings revealed they had marked the occasion together. 

Zara is currently filming her new documentary series, produced by South Shore Productions, which sees her explore the destination which has become a popular tourist spot for young Brits. 

The series kicked off in bustling Bangkok and Zara’s next destination will be the popular party island of Pattaya. 

The star’s main goal for the documentary is to discover why thousands of young Brits flock to the exotic location every year. 

From backpackers to those who are seeking longer-term roots – the new documentary will unearth the secrets of the vast and varied country.

Speaking to the BBC, Zara previously expressed her excitement about exploring a new country: ‘I’m excited to discover a country that so many young people like me are heading to right now.’ 

‘There’s clearly a fascination with the nightlife, parties and stunning beaches – but there seems to be other intriguing reasons people are going to Thailand and staying.’

On Friday Louise, 34, posted a reel that showcased a stunning set-up in her home with the floor filled with candles and individual pages of her book hanging from the ceiling on strings.

The former Made In Chelsea star revealed she had invited Sam over to read a very special page – the one dedicated to him within the acknowledgements of her memoir.

In the clip, Louise asked her brother on camera: ‘You’ve read a little bit of my book. Have you read the acknowledgements? I wrote a thank you to you.’

Shocked by the surprise, Sam admitted he had no idea and went on to read the tear-jerking extract out loud.

He read: ‘My brother Sam, for visiting the hospital so regularly and for bringing your tremendous humour, for distracting me so thoroughly with chat about work and world domination.’

‘For knowing me better than anyone else because we share a mother and a father and a hell of a lot of DNA.’

‘Even though our lives have had an interesting interwoven nature over the years sending us on separate journeys and then bringing us back together, we still share so many silly similarities. We are truly cut from the same cloth.’

‘Thank you for popping your head over the fence when I was camping out in the garden every day during the winter.’

‘Thank you for asking me how I was doing on repeat even if I could only respond with the word ‘anxious’ 10,000 times. It must have been so scary for you to see your sister drift away.’

Getting teary-eyed, he continued: ‘I feel like we missed out on a fair share of precious memories together but the good news is that we have all the time in the world to create loads more going forward.’

‘Boy, oh boy will we appreciate them now. The real fun is only just beginning. Thank you for being the best fun uncle to Leo and making such a big effort lately.’

‘Nothing makes me happier. Thank you for taking on the role of the oldr sibling. I know I’ve always been the boss and controlling one but I feel very safe and comfortable in your hands.’

‘I feel very grateful to be able to pass the baton for you to take the lead. The skies are the limit.’

After he finished reading, Sam fought back tears he hugged Louise and gushed: ‘Oh I didn’t even think I was going to cry. I didn’t think I would get upset. Aww mate, that’s so sweet and I am like your older brother.’

‘I know you are. It’s such a relief to have an older brother now,’ said Louise, as she also got teary.

Sam added: ‘We know each other so well. In an interview, I was asked what role do you play with Louise and I said “I was the person that would go in, notice that she needed to be taken away from that situation and talk about life as if it was normal.’

Louise responded: ‘It’s actually so true. You would come and talk about work and for a moment I’d be like I can think about something other than the pain.’

The heartfelt video ended with Sam asking if he could keep the page, insisting he’s ‘going to frame it’.

It was revealed by MailOnline that Sam and his long-term girlfriend Zara separated in December after five years together with Zara recently revealing she had moved out of their Chelsea home. 

While Sam enjoyed much-needed sibling time, Zara showed off her jaw-dropping figure in a red cut-out swimsuit as she posed for sizzling Instagram snaps on the beach in Thailand on Thursday.

Leaving her long wet tresses loose, the Strictly star looked sensational as she accessorised the beach ensemble with a pair of chunky gold earrings.

Zara sent temperatures soaring as she posed up a storm lying on the beach while sipping on a coconut drink.

The documentary star put on a leggy display as she cooled off in the ocean in a stunning black and white photo.

She captioned the snaps: ‘Coconut queen’.
