Back in July, Eoghan reflected on his time on The X Factor, revealing he has ‘so many fond memories’, while he believes he was ‘one of the lucky ones’ for having such a good experienceย

He told Belfast Live: ‘I wouldn’t want my children to do it, it’s tough and there is so much more social media about now. I just think nowadays kids see so much on internet and there is a lot of pressures to look a certain way. There wasn’t as much negativity around when I was on the show.’

Eoghan went on to say that while he had a ‘positive experience’ on the reality show, he believes he may have had a different experience had he taken part today.

He shared: ‘I had to quickly learn not everyone is going to like you, you have to just live with it and get on with it. I grew up really quickly, I was just a kid in school that came from a normal, working-class family. It went from 0-100, my world was turned upside down.

‘But everyone back home was really supportive and I think 99.9% of teenagers would rather be on the X-Factor than studying for their GCSEs. I never had any anxiety, I really had the right people around me and after the show I had a great tour manager.’
