Veteran Australian newsreader Chris Bath revealed her exciting new career move on Thursday as she attended the ABC Upfronts in Sydney.
The esteeemed journalist, 57, is set to return to ABC Radio, five years after she resigned from the network.
Bath will take over from veteran Drive time presenter Richard Glover, who hosted the show for 26 years, following his shock resignation.
‘I’m excited, daunted, a little bit scared and nervous,’ said Bath in a statement.
‘The thing I love about radio is something I just don’t think you can create in television. That’s a sense of community that you can actually have live on air.’
The Sydney-born presenter added it was daunting to be taking over from someone as renowned as Glover, but she was up to the task.

‘Whenever Richard’s not there, I’ll turn the radio on and then I’m usually angry, unfairly, at whoever’s filling in. This time it’s going to be permanently me, so I just don’t know how I’m going to juggle that,’ she continued.
‘I’m still in a bit of disbelief. I always thought that Richard was going to be there forever.
‘Every time I sit in that chair, I have a pretty healthy dose of imposter syndrome because I don’t know how anyone could be as good a broadcaster as Richard.’
She was previously the host of the network’s Evening talkback show from 2016 – 2019.

Bath is one of Australia’s most renowned journalists, with a 36 year career in TV and radio.
She quit Channel Seven in 2015 after 20 years with the network as a newsreader and presenter.
The presenter then joined ABC Radio in November 2016 and hosted the evening show until the end of 2019.
After resigning, Chris moved to a farm with her husband Jim Wilson, who is also an Australian sports journalist.
The couple got married in January 2012 after three years of dating.
Chris shares a son with her ex-husband Denis Carnahan who she split with in 2008 after 10 years of marriage.
