Tom Hardy has revealed that he always tries to ‘swerve’ weddings.

The Hollywood star, 47, has been married to Charlotte Riley, 41, since 2014 and despite his own happy relationship, he admitted he isn’t ‘interested’ when it comes to others tying the knot.

During an appearance on Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby on Thursday, he said: ‘I don’t really spend much time at weddings.

‘I like to swerve the old weddings and the tunes. Just me then that’s not interested?

‘Everybody does love a wedding, don’t they? I don’t get invited to weddings. I think it’s because people kind of know that I’m not into it.’

The actor is father to 16-year-old son Louis with his ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed and then two children – whose names and genders have not been revealed publicly – with Charlotte.

He has played the title role of the Marvel superhero in the Venom franchise for almost a decade now, and explained that he took the part the part for his eldest at the time.

However, now that Louis is a teenager, he is not shy about sharing with his dad how he could improve on screen.

Jordan asked: ‘Yeah, because I remembered you saying you started it because your son loves the character. Is that still the case now? Is he still into Venom’

Tom replied: ‘Yeah, he is actually, he’s grown up now but he’s very articulate in helping me understand what I could do better.’

The actor often keeps his children out of the public eye, but his eldest did make an appearance at the film’s premiere earlier this week.

Tom’s latest film is the third and final instalment of the franchise, in which he stars as investigative journalist known as Eddie Brock in day-to-day life.

Over the course of two films so far, Tom’s alter-ego has become the host of an alien symbiote whose species plans to invade Earth.

The character has been hailed as the most recognisable antagonist from the Spider-Man universe, and first appeared in the comic book series in May 1984.

The second instalment of the series saw the character face serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) and in this one, both Eddie and Vemon  are on the run from their respective worlds as fugitives.

For the new film , Tom’s character had to dance to a track by the legendary pop group ABBA, but admitted that it was all in fact CGI.

He said: ‘There’s a little bit of dancing in there as well yep.’

Asked by Jordan whether it was all CGI, he confirmed: ‘Yeah, that’s all visual effects.’

He also noted that there was also a professional dancer there on set with him so that some ‘actual’ footwork could make it onto the screen.
