The son of late country music legend Toby Keith has announced he is expecting his first child with his wife this summer.
Keith died aged 62ย after a three-year battle with stomach cancer in February 2024.
His son Stelen Keith Covel, 27, took to Instagram Friday to reveal he and wife Haley’s baby joy, posting a snap holding a sonogram.
The pair wrote: ‘Baby Covel coming this summer.’
Followers congratulated Stelen and Haley on their news writing: ‘I sure wish your dad was here to enjoy this’, ‘Congratulations. This baby already has the best guardian angel’ and ‘You know that baby is hand picked from Heaven by your Dad. Congratulations.’
Stelen wed Haley in November 2021.

Keith is survived by his wife, Tricia Lucas, and their three children, daughters Shelley Covel Rowland, fellow singer Krystal Keith and Stelen.ย
He also had four grandchildren at the time of his death.
The crooner with several number one country hits, such as Made in America and Who’s Your Daddy, was one of the biggest acts from Nashville in the last 30 years.
The singer, who sold over 40 million records, was diagnosed with stomach cancer at the tail end of 2021 before he died surrounded by family.
Keith publicly revealed that he was diagnosed with stomachย cancerย in 2022.
He took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the announcement on June 12, 2022, writing: ‘Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer.
‘I’ve spent the last six months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax.’ย
The country crooner added that he was looking forward to spending quality time with his family, but that he would ‘see the fans sooner than later.’ย

On February 6 his family shared to social media that the country music legend had ‘passed peacefully’ surrounded by family the night beforeย
A few months after sharing his cancer diagnosis, the country music star confessed that he found the illness to ‘pretty debilitating’.
In an interview with CMT Hot 20, he quipped that was thinking about ‘getting back into fighting shape’.
He continued: ‘It’s pretty debilitating to have to go through all that, but as long as everything stays hunky-dory, then we’ll look at something good in the future I need a little bit of time to just rest up and heal up.’ย
His family posted a statement to X on February 6 2024 revealing that the star had ‘passed peacefully’ after his three year battle with stomach cancer.
‘Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family. He fought his fight with grace and courage,’ the message read.
‘Please respect the privacy of his family at this time,’ย
