The contestants from this year’s season of The Block have revealed how they really feel about each other.
During filming, the intense conflict between the teams had several viewers labelling the show ‘toxic’ but the ‘Blockheads’ didn’t leave the drama on-site, with some continuing to critique each other in post-show interviews.
However, speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle on Thursday, two teams from this year’s season of the hit renovation show claimed they had put the drama behind them.
While Kyle and Leslie confessed that filming the show’s Open For Inspections episode in October was ‘quite awkward,’ due to the ongoing drama on the series, the auction forced contestants to understand the ‘real world’ stakes of the competition.
‘So everyone kind of just put it aside on that day and sort of left it like that, essentially,’ said Leslie.

‘The girls [Eliza and Liberty] and Kristy and Brett had a great chat that day, they both wished that each other would go well and sort of called a truce, and it was really lovely,’ she added.
Winner Steph and Gian agreed with Kyle and Leslie, claiming that the finale was a good reflection of how the cast feel about each other now.
‘Everyone is amicable. There’s not this hostility between cast members, and that’s genuine. That’s how I felt even on auction day,’ said Gian.

‘We’re quite happy to speak to all of the cast now and we wish them nothing but the best in the future, genuinely,’ Steph added.
It comes as the winners said their victory and new status as millionaires has not changed them.
After walking away from the renovation competition with $1.75 million, Steph and Gian told Woman’s Day magazine they recently chose not to replace their old VW Beetle with a luxury car.

Steph explained that she totalled their previous car in an accident just before filming this year’s series of The Block.
But instead of splurging on a high-octane sports car, they traded it in for a secondhand BMW.
In last month’s nail-biting finale of The Block, Steph and Gian were the runaway winners with their house selling for an incredible $5million.

They walked away with $1.65 million profit plus prize money of $100,000, bringing their total earnings to a record breaking $1.75 million.
Steph and Gian’s House 4 was first to auction, and it was a tense time for the pair, who called their $3.35 million reserve ‘hell’ and feared they would not make money on the sale.
The bidding quickly reached $4million thanks to serial bidder Danny Wallace, but the action was halted after a woman fainted during the auction and was taken to hospital.
After the pause, the bidding stalled at $4million, before jumping a million dollars straight up to $5million – and the hammer fell, with House 4 sold.
The $5million sale gave the pair $1.65 million profit, with Steph and Gian embracing and bursting into tears as they called the money, ‘life changing’.
