Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman unite for Strictly live show as Daly rocks a bold look in black PVC trousers

The 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing has finally begun as the stars took to the dancefloor for the first time on Saturday.

And hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as they took to the ballroom in black and white coordinated outfits.

The pair kept it classy as they ditched the glamorous dresses for more androgynous looks while taking to the stage during the BBC show.

Tess accentuated her height with a pair of black PVC trousers which she paired with an open collared white shirt.

The 54-year-old completed the outfit by wrapping a loose black tie around her neck as her blonde waves were tousled over her shoulders.

Meanwhile Claudia donned a black sheer shirt with white collar and cuff detailing as she peered out from beneath her signature dark fringe.

Beneath her shirt, the 51-year-old flashed a black lace camisole top while also adding a pop of colour with some red lipstick.

The iconic pair opened the show as they introduced the 15 celebrities and their couples as they take to the dancefloor together for the first week of the competition.

However it’s not getting too real too quickly as all the couples will make it through to Week Two of the show, with the first vote-off set to take place next Sunday.

Fans were worried the first show would be thrown into chaos after Amanda Abbington reportedly threatened to quit following clashes with partner Giovanni Pernice.

The actress, 49, was said to be ‘left shaken’ by the pro’s ‘militant and aggressive’ training style with tensions escalating between the pair.

However the star has passionately hit back at claims that she threatened to quit the show due to clashes with her partner.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, just hours ahead of the first live show, she rubbished the rumours in a swear-filled rant.

But Amanda has now hit back at the rumours and told how she is ‘ignoring the bulls***’ as she insisted things are all good between her and Giovanni, 33.

Seemingly addressing the feud claims, she said: ‘Ignoring the bulls***, because clearly people are t****.’

Launching a swear-filled rant, she went on: ‘Just stop it, stop it, grow up. No one gives a s***. Shut up, it’s b****cks, so f*** off.’

Her comments come hours after she broke her silence for the first time after the feud rumours on Friday in a string of posts where she heaped praise on Giovanni.

Amanda had taken to her Instagram Stories to share a snap of her beaming in rehearsals and gushed over ‘hugely talented’ Giovanni in an accompanying caption.

She penned: ‘The smile you give your pro partner at the end of the camera rehearsal when you know you are in safe and hugely talented hands. Giovanni Pernice ya legend, see you all tomorrow.’

Giovanni then shared her post to his own Instagram Stories and admitted that he was ‘extremely proud’ of his dance partner as they proved they have a strong bond.
