cryptically referred to having recently undergone a 'health scare,' which he described as a 'wake-up call.'

'The last thing that kind of hit me that was very liberating was I had a bit of a health scare. I'm totally fine, but it was like, "Oh, well, that's real,"' the 78-year-old Cheers alum revealed on his podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name on Wednesday.

'And it was humbling. "Oh, mortality is uh it's the real deal, you know. It's not just a rumor. Ted Danson doesn't get a free pass. Love his work, but..." And I hadn't f***ed up in some way. So, I couldn't go, "Oh, Ted, [wags finger]."'

Danson went on to say the health scare was 'the best thing that could have happened to me' and he's since made changes to his lifestyle.

'I am meditating now twice a day with Mary,' the two-time winner said of his third wife Mary Steenburgen.

'It's like, wow, I've always talked about it and lied about it, [laughs]. But what it's done for me, the biggest gift of all [is] you can be curious about other people.
